QPR striker Eduardo Vargas is set to miss the remainder of the 2014/15 Barclays Premier League season.

The 25 year-old - having opened the scoring in Saturday's 4-1 win at West Bromwich Albion - was replaced on the half hour mark at The Hawthorns after falling awkwardly on his left knee.

Scans have since revealed Vargas sustained a grade two medial collateral ligament injury, which is likely to keep him sidelined for between 10-12 weeks.

Vargas is the third QPR player to sustain an MCL injury since the turn of the year, following recent injuries to Richard Dunne and Leroy Fer.

However, both Dunne and Fer are now closing in on a first team return, with the pair potentially in line to be in contention for the visit of West Ham United to Loftus Road at the end of the month.

There was a list up somewhere of all PL Clubs injured players, with expected return by date. Villa had the most injuries, but we were near the top on numbers.

But with us... The players has an outstanding match, really steps up...and then gets injured...Rio and Hoillet don't get injuries......Faurlin, Fer, Dunne and now Vargas do...
Probably our players are thinking that if they play well they will get a possible career ending injury...and so lay off a bit

Yeah he can; our best forward when he came on against Everton - play him in a like for like swap with Vargas on the left like the former Adel will naturally drift in. Even without the Vargas injury I still pinned my remote hopes on an Adel miracle!
