Billy, your post is bang out of order by attributing everything to Cellino. I'm not saying that it's not true - just that it coud have been written anytime over the last decade & been true. Why blame it all on Cellino?

I agree the longer we are out the harder it becomes to get back in the prem, particularly due to the parachute payments to the relegated clubs. But all clubs sell players including us going right back to the days when we sold Joe Jordan and Gordon McQueen to the scum. Actually Southampton have used this model to get back to the top. Walcott, Oxelaide-Chamderlin, Chambers, Bale to name a few were sold. The difference was they got top money which they reinvested into their club, either infrastructure or player replacement. This was also the Cellino approach at Cagliari. It's harder to achieve here because Leeds Fans seem to develop a more emotional attachment to our players rather and don't view them as a commodity. It's also not helped by our lack of trust in owners as any money we make seems to disappear to plug holes in our finances rather than enhancing the club. So I would be on board with an owner that wanted to progress this way if it was transparent that money generated was being used to achieve promotion. Red Bull might speed the process, and I say might, because they don't have an outstanding record of success with the clubs they've bought so far.

If we were playing in yellow and blue now, as in 1962, with absolutely no success whatsoever over the past 40 years, I don't think any of us would object to the kit being changed to all white. The fact is though believe it or not we have had major successes in the context of football as a whole over the last 50 years and that success has been achieved playing in white. That's who we are.
If we became Red Bull Leeds the brand, changed the kit to predominantly purple and achieved success because of it, it would be Red Bull the brand achieving that success, not Leeds United as we've always known it.

Where's the pleasure and satisfaction in that?

I totally agree. Our current situation stems right back to Ridsdale. Cellino's inherited that mess which was made worse by Bates, who sold any players at a cut price just to line his own pockets and have a nice shiny facade on the East stand.

Under Cellino we've so far kept any players worth keeping, and got an extortionate fee for McGreedy bollocks.

Cellino may be a bit of a twat but no way are our current woes down to him

I believe Red Bull have once again said they won't be buying Leeds United. Cellino is a businessman, it doesn't matter we think or say, he's going to do business his way; there's normally a reason behind the things he says whether we believe'em or not.

He said 2 years to get promotion as this season would be a building season and I think fans should be fair and give him the 2 years, he himself is learning ropes too; he may just get up and surprise us.

If he sells he sells, then we start again and the new owners may well say we'll gain promotion in 3 years, they're definitely not going to say 1 season, so we're probably looking at another 2 seasons in championship if Cellino sells.

"our best young players being sold and heavy defeats to crap clubs we should be thrashing"

We haven't exactly been thrashing the so called crap clubs in Championship Billy, even with our so called best young players, as you claim. For me the problems are in our midfield and attack, but Redders won't, or can't see those problems. Redders obviously doesn't want to score goals or he wouldn't keep playing the wandering nomad who couldn't score past a one legged blind Grandma who's 6 foot under, and I don't buy this "he's very good at holding up the ball" so is Silvestri and he brings impact and value to team.

Hmmm. Don't know what to make of this ....

    http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/...ooking-at-big-money-leeds-recruitment-this-su

Italian website Tuttomercatoweb have a really intriguing claim on Leeds United today. It's stated byTMW that Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino is already looking at the summer market and targeting free agents. That sounds like cheap business but the names mentioned would suggest high wages and therefore require some money to be invested.

TMW's entire piece on the matter is: 'According to reports gathered by Unione Sarda in England, the former owner of Cagliari Massimo Cellino is looking to Italy to strengthen his squad ahead of next year: in the viewfinder there would be Mounir El Hamdaoui of Fiorentina, Urby Emanuelson of Atalanta, McDonald Mariga of Parma, Simone Pepe of Juventus and even Francesco Pisano of Cagliari.'

That's quite a list and would suggest some level of planning. TMW have been very good on Leeds United business since Cellino took over and called several transfers before any of the British media had a sniff of what was going on. However, for this they've credited Unione Sarda.

We checked out what Unione Sarda actually said and it was similar to TMW, only with the Sardian website crediting the British media. A bit of a circle here, already!

A little further digging and it became apparent that the reports originated with HITC and an entirely interesting innocent and interesting article from Matthew Nash, who suggested the above players as ones who Leeds may target. It was his idea after some research into contracts which were ending. That's been enough for some in Italy to run with the idea of Leeds actually making moves for the players, expect the agents involved to try and push the reports along a little further.

Are you suggesting that someone in the current set up needs more of a chance.

Agreed, we're not even halfway through that timescale and some people are all too willing have have the heart and soul ripped out of the club to buy promotion and a few hollow trophies

Change the name, change the kit etc

    Desperate or what?

    Did I say that?
I said everyone knew bates was a crook but wasn't proved in court.
The italian clown is a proven crook but some of you want to let him carry on running the club like a complete dick.

I hated bates and still do, but at least he was clever enough to pull it off unlike this dumb ****.

The fl arn't corrupt, Celino is bent!

The FL are probably not corrupt but they certainly seem to apply their "rule" far more rigidly when it come to Leeds United. The guy at Birmingham still seems to run the club from his prison cell for money laundering and at Blackpool Oyston puts his son in charge, which again I thought was against the rules of having influence over decisions. As for Cellino and his taxes, he set up a company to reduce or avoid the amount he paid, tax avoidance I think is not an offence here, plenty of rich people avoid paying vast tax on their incomes. I'm more concerned with how he runs the club and I just can't understand why, with what looked like a period of stability, improving results and optimism amongst the support, he would wreck that with this sacking!! That said I just don't believe Cellino will be the owner next season.

    Some disgraceful comments on here.

    Where's your pride?

Some of you are prepared to sell your souls to the devil and for what?

Name change or kit change for any self respecting fan = walk away in my opinion.

    Shameful.
