All teams but Sauber and Williams have agreed to revert to Valencia spec for Nurburgring.

Yeah I think it was PMC because they came up right after I told him to deal with Hamilton doing badly.

    Surprise, surprise.

    Thanks for that.

I expected Sauber and Williams to take this stance - especially Williams as they were the ones who initially protested before Spain.

I was a bit skeptical about Alonso's comments, especially with Silverstone being a Red Bull track, but Ferrari's decision to revert to Valencia spec suggests that he is telling the truth and these updates have made the car almost a second quicker.

What will happen if they can't reach unanimous agreement? And will race performance change their or any other team's minds?

I'm surprised Ferrari have agreed to it. Even if they feel their step forward is 100% due to updates, this is clearly punishing McLaren and I thought Ferrari would be keen to continue that.

I don't think they'll be able to revert to Valencia-spec, based on this. But with the FIA behaving as they are, you never know - Renault/Red Bull might keep complaining and get their own way.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know the length from the start to the first corner?

I'm just surprised so many teams have rushed to agree before they have seen the consequences of the ban on race performance.

I think whatever happens teams should not be allowed to change engine maps between quali and the race because that breaks the basic parc fermé rules.

At Barcelona, Ferrari were almost 1 second off the pace (even with a "super lap").
Here, Ferrari are 1 tenth off the pace

Something made the car 9 tenths faster, and allowed Ferrari to match Red Bull in the high speed corners like corpse. Alonso says it's due to the updates, not the ban. He is the one driving the car, so he should know. I think I have found the explanation:

    FLEXIBLE FRONT WING

This is a disgrace, an outrage. How can that wing be deemed legal? The title will be tainted if they win it. <steam><steam><steam>

Good to see Ferrari getting on level terms through design and engineering rather than constantly whinging about other teams. <ok>

Excellent. What a great weekend to introduce it, when everyone else is talking a lot of hot air.

Less than a hundred points to claw back. If Alonso can do it it'll be the greatest comeback since that plate of dodgy prawns.

Just think Genji, Ferrari are closer compared to last year in performance. If and thats a big if Alonso wins the next 2 races with Vettel out then its less than 50 and then its the same as last year. It will need luck, but you should never rule out Alonso. I would advise you to put some money on him too ;)

Who else is already getting excited about the thought of Alonso chasing down Vettel's lead? <hopespringseternal>

    To win of course.

    <ok>

Only crap drivers do that, and Lewis never has and never will fall into that category.
