John, mate, listen.. Standing at the side of the pitch and continually clapping your hands whilst shouting "come on lads", is not football management!!. You got that? Good...

He's the permanent manager next season. We had better get used to it. Actually, no i ****ing won't. They can shove their affordable football where the sun doesn't shine. That is it with these jokers.

The man is a cancer. He is a ****ing ape, lacking any sort of intelligence or managerial skill and is a complete and utter embarrassment. Perform seppukku immediately to save yourself further humilation.

He doesn't look or sound like a Football Manager. He looks like one of those blokes you give a couple of quid to look after your car.

Looks like he picks his teams and tactics on Football Manager.

Surely to God, if the bloke had a bit of decency, he'd resign. This "football" is absolute dog ****e. Just **** off carver.

Not being funny but most people have more faith in their ability than others and sadly for NUFC right now John Carver falls into that category. Yes it's worrying watching a display like that today, with that selection. Was feeling optimistic about today until I saw the teams and knew what was coming. Didn't even watch the first half today which I've never done through choice before.

I was there today. Absolute ****e. I've been watching Newcastle nearly every week for over forty years. Today's performance ranks with one of the worst I've seen. They offered nothing. Nothing at all. Spineless jellyfish, the lot of them.

They've got no clue, that comes from Carver. Pardew seemed clueless but this guy is just a desperate clone.

That performance was a disgrace. They should all hang their heads in shame. A total embarrassment to themselves and the fans. Can't imagine carver motivating anyone tbh. Our club is rotten from top to bottom.

we were beaten in the dugout yesterday. Tactically we were very very poor.

You could tell when you saw the teams get off the bus and were reading comments on twitter the worst was going to happen. Doesn't say a lot about Carver.

Putting things into perspective I don't think the defence can be overly criticised as they didn't really have that much to do and wouldn't have been able to stop Defoe's shot.

The main area at fault was the midfield who never took control and rarely created anything; perhaps one or two chances. Up front Perez tried but for the most part he never received a decent pass and was playing against two or even three defenders at any one time.

Individually it is hard to say who was worst but those in the frame for me, in no particular order, were Sammy, Goufran, Sissoko and Guitierez (nice bloke but past it as a footballer). None of those mentioned should play for the first team again. I include Sissoko in that comment as he is nowhere as good as many make him out and, as like yesterday, goes missing for long periods in every game.

And don't get me started on Carver,

Sunderland were poor and they were still better than us,
