    All young players though

    Coutinho is now 22

    Sturridge is now 25

Sahko is is just now 25

To say none were getting a game is a bit disingenuous when they had serious players ahead of them

Sahko had a top set of cbs ahead of him, sturridge had drogba and anyone abramovich wanted like Torres...

Sure we got them as players thier sides were willing to sell fine whatever....

If we want to say we've no good players fine but we are not qpr down at the bottom trying to scrape by we are a side let down by stupidity that could be top 4 with half a bit of sense

The collapse didn't start with United. We were utterly hosed in the first half against Southampton, and were lucky with a wonder goal and two dreadful refereeing decisions. Same at Swansea, where we didn't cross the halfway line for 45 minutes, but were grateful that the Swans had a **** night in front of goal. In both cases, our much vaunted 3-4-3 system had been utterly mastered, but the results seemed to have hidden the reality from those in charge.

Can't be added doing a player ratings this week, but I think we all know what they are. And whilst the Sterling situation is unhelpful - sell him this summer with best wishes and no bitterness, I say - it's madness to blame home for this too.

We've got to bear with Markovic ( a ****ing five yard pass under no pressure......), Moreno, Lallana and even Lovren, unless some dickhead gives us our money back on them (no hope) for another season. But, Sterling included, there's only three, possibly four players who'd just about make the squads of a top four side, let alone their first elevens.

So, for the third time in thirteen seasons we've taken three steps back after coming second in the league. No point evading the issue - no matter if we change the manager or the owners or both, we're facing another 5 years of "rebuilding". So glad I have the memories of this club, because **** knows where the future"s going!

Cannot really disagree with anything here except that we need to keep sterling and give Rodgers the elbow.

The players recruited have proved to be substandard. And I did say the pundits wholehearted praise for our unbeaten run and for our form was not supported by our recent performances.

And when Rodgers comes up against a top 5 side he gets rumbled. City at home was the only exception but then city's form is itself pretty dire so no great benchmark.

I said this at the time but quite a few of you thought i was only saying it because you beat them. It had been obvious for a few games before they were in poor form, they have now dropped 15 points in the last 10 games (50%).

  7. I'd usually like posts that make sense and I agree with like this one but I don't 'like' it <laugh>

Great post Donga, nail and head spring to mind. Only thing I don't agree with is Sterling, I think he'll stick around for another season. Whether we sell him cheap or manage to get him to sign another deal is another matter.

PS...least you have the memories, I was only nine when we won our last league title and although I had loved football for a few years by then, I wasn't a massive follower* of the professional game back then :(

    * mainly because it wasn't on TV like it is now, no one else in my family is a football fan so I had no chance of getting to a match either

    Completely agree.

Rodgers is persisting with a formation with the wrong personnel.

Would certainly persist with Markovic and Moreno, simply because they are young and have more potential. Lallana and Lovren are lost causes for me - they were average players before and are in their primes. They will not improve.

Rodgers was given too much control in the summer off the back of finishing 2nd. Quite clear that he was carried by Suarez last season.
