for a club like ours, I don't really enjoy it at all apart from one or two good wins each season, we are rubbish, wheres the fun in getting beat nearly every game, 145 games so far played 30 wins. Steve Bruce is he really a good Prem manager? not for us, he's only two wins better off than Browny who was a novice, Browny gave us a fantastic start to our first season before we got found out and although we got to the FA Cup final with Bruce, this season has been awful it started with the Lokeren surrender, that was terrible management by Bruce. Burnley away, the McShane falling out, Curtis Davis, Herandez, playing injured players, blaming everyone but himself for picking wrong players, the list goes on. At Christmas when we beat Sunderland away I thought we were on track but it's slipping away now, Burnley should have beat Spurs, Sunlan fans roared their team to victory, we didn't get off the bus yesterday, the players apart from Macca were dreadful, the manager looks like hanging himself. I think we're going down and to be honest the bonus of that will see Allam lose a shed load of money, serve the old **** right.
But if you do well in the championship you get promoted. If you enjoy it, that's because you're winning. The race for promotion is exciting, no doubt. But the ultimate aim is to win then get promoted. We did that, now it's a slow struggle to establish ourselves. If you want to enjoy something that rewards teams with little chance of relegation or promotion, watch rugby league. Please don't tell me the refereeing is better in the championship, it isn't.
Simply because what ever sport I have played or watched I want to do it against the best and anyone who doesn't I wonder why they are happy to accept second best. To me yes its no fun losing but my aim would be to get better and improve. at the moment we are struggling, well fight, stay up and have a go again next season and strive to do much better like some other clubs our size have done. I suppose in life you can get some who think "well we can't do it lets pack it in" its all a matter of choice whilst the team are fighting so am I so don't give up next season could be totally different.
I think we are a bit like West Brom they went up and down a few times but they don't seem to buy expensive players like we do but they will stay up this season, I think looking at this season separately from last Bruce has ****ed it up this year, he's bought overpriced not very good players. If/when we go down, hopefully we will build a decent side around the good ones we have, a bit like Newcastle did and come back up and stay here for a few years. It won't bother me if we go down this year, I'm sure Bruce can bring us back up learn from his mistakes and keep us here
If we go down one good side of it is that we will lose a good percentage of fair weather idiots who think we should have world-class players in every position and have the same win-rate ratio as Chelsea, we are Hull so why is it surprising to some that we only won 30 out of 140
Bit early for all this, isn't it? Still 7 weeks left of the season & we're not in the bottom 3 just yet. I wasn't happy with yesterday or how this season has panned out, on and off the field, but it's not over yet. So don't go crying we're all doomed. I'm not going to say we don't deserve to be down there, because that would be a lie. We have played cack an awful lot of times this season. If we go down i hope everyone says we weren't good enough to stay up, and doesn't look for an excuse. Just hope they show some balls in the remainding games.
The problem is it wont be easy getting back up, an half full stadium at least half of the team leaving, look at the the clubs who went down last season none of whom are doing that great this season
I don't think any City supporter thinks we should be in the top half I dont, but the pain of getting beat regularly is draining on the fans and the players, I go to games now expecting defeat so it doesn't surprise me when we do, and if we win or draw it's great. We've struggled badly this season but we have many good players under contract who will either get sold or play if we go down, most will stay with relegation contracts, and you would hope those players pride would be strong enough to get us back up.
If anyone cares about losing they shouldn't be watching Hull City. The manner of defeats is what makes it so hard to watch. We all went home from the Chelsea match happy at seeing a great game of football, our team playing well and excitingly, creating chances etc. Getting to the ground and seeing the dull super defensive 5-3-2 line up, knowing you'll be lucky to see so much as a couple of half chances and more than one shot on target, playing awfully and inevitably losing... It's just happening far too often. And Steve Bruce doesn't seem to take any notice, he just keeps trying the same old failed tactics. This season more than any I think I'd be happy to see us relegated to be honest. And Christ knows we deserve to be the way we've been this season.
No moaning about getting beat all the time, I don't like it, that's why this season the Premier League is cack
It's great seeing City players up against the best. We've done well to get here and remain here. It's about progression and we need 3-4 season to consolidate to get ourselves into a position where, like Swansea, we get comfortable. If we stay up I think we will get a couple of new larkers who will displace the likes of Meyler and Thudd to allow us to push on that little bit more
I still remembered this from when I was at school ... If you think you are beaten, you are; If you think you dare not, you don't. If you'd like to win, but think you can't It's almost a cinch you won't. If you think you'll lose, you've lost, For out in the world we find Success being with a fellow's will; It's all in the state of mind. If you think you're outclassed, you are: You've got to think high to rise. You've got to be sure of yourself before You can ever win a prize. Life's battles don't always go To the stronger or faster man, But soon or late the man who wins Is the one who thinks he can. (Walter D. Wintle) Laughing? Think it's a load of bollocks? It's still better than rolling over and playing dead! Seven games to go; I think we can!
Your club is playing in the biggest and best league in the World mate. You're not going to see them winning every week in this league, but once you get safe this season (and I sure you will) you can continue to build in the summer and in another year or 2 you'll be an established PL club, same as Stoke have achieved. It's also less than 12 months since you were in the the cup final ffs, get a sense of perspective mate
It's the wealthiest, I'm certainly not convinced it's the best. For example before a ball is kicked you know who will be in the top 4 (roughly) you know closely who'll be in the bottom 3. In fact with the odd exception I reckon you could put a league table together that wouldn't be too far wrong. Conversely, look at the Championship. Still too close to call for the automatic slots and play off places. I much preferred away days in the Championship than the PL. Usually a better atmosphere, games which can genuinely be win, lose or draw rather than in the PL damage limitation more often than not.
I assume your an Everton fan so that's easy for you to say, seeing as you have never seen lower league football, but getting beat every week is **** who cares if it's the best league in the world ( it's not ) my frustration is fuelled by the fact that we have good players who are not playing as a team, that's the managers fault. He's **** scared away from home I don't know why, but that's the reason why we may well go down, it's not the end of the world it's only a game, I will still be there whichever league we are in, hoping for a win
