For the first time in months couldn't bring myself to watch the extended highlights. I've moved on.

If we lose I never watch the highlights, it's as though it never happened :)

They should trace back who purchased the ticket and then ban them as well.

That's fine Croatia and I have never asked it to be hidden, but people should be able to critique a performance rather than make pathetic, immature slating of people. A lot has been "moaning like crap". You haven't by the way. I have no problem with people sensibly critiquing, but all too often that is not what happens and then we end up with what I call "High expectation spoiled behaviour."

If you recall, I have been quite critical of Pelle as a player over the last three months. I haven't slagged him off, demanded that he be put on a boat and shipped back to Italy or wherever. Some have even countered my criticism and we have had sensible debate, but you can't sensibly debate ignorant abuse.

You yourself have just posted that it was no big deal, so in fact it sounds like you agree with me. That's my point, we didn't play as well as we can, we lost and yet some people seem to expect perfection or a win every week. You are 100% correct when you say it is no big deal.

As much as you and others are free to critique, I am free to defend and applaud what is an excellent season and when a defeat is not big deal.

I can understand that you might react unintentionally, but openly wear a scarf? I suppose his mates thought Saints would win and there'd be no problem. I just hope a Saints fan wasn't deprived of a ticket. A ManU fan asked me once to get him a ticket at SMS and I just refused...I'm no collaborator.

I was at Portman Road, in the Ipswich end once when they were playing Pompey and I was wearing my Portsmouth shirt (under my coat!) and I cheered when we scored.... I was there with my Ipswich supporting mate. Honestly, people need to grow up and man up. I don't care if there's an opposition fan who celebrates when they score. Obviously I'd be slightly annoyed as it's like... a double-whammy but I'd get over it and I' never start abusing them or threatening them. People supporting different sides seem able to sit together and cheer for their team in rugby, cricket, American football... even football at non-league level. What makes fans of league football such imbeciles? I'm not referring to you btw, tom.

PL you are right, we should be able to watch a game at the other end. However, knowing what it is like, it is wrong to go laden in colours and making a song and dance; you know what can happen.

By the way, non-league football also has some issues with this.

    I watched them for you<cool>

What PL and FLT are saying is right. In L1 Southampton averaged 17000 or thereabouts, in the EPL they are now averaging around 30000. It's not hard to pick which section comments are made and from, by which section's total, 17k the HC or 13k JCLs.

Just watched JWP's video. He says that if there is a right way to lose a match this was it. A good point...not all losses are the same. True you've missed out on 3 points, but this game was not one to get angry over...we played well, produced a few good saves from their keeper, and kept them to one scrappy chance (which they took). And it has been a great season and I can't remember one awful league game where the players needed slapping...can you?

This result ( and Spurs : Burnley - thanks Burnley) just go to show no match is a guaranteed win. Europe still very much game on IMO

Incidentally, even with Pelle's goal drought, I was looking at 'statto.com' and was pleasantly surprised that before yesterday we've only scored one less this season than last at the same stage (42 vs. 43).

Sometimes you can't help yourself. I was sat in the East stand at Old Trafford once, quietly keeping my head down, when Kevin Phillips scored a sublime screamer from 30 yards out. I was on my feet yelling "super, super Kev" before i remembered where I was.

Fortunately, nothing happened. Had I been in the Stretford End I dare say I would have received a bigger kicking than Harry Kane got from the Italian defence the other night.

I did the same that day myself :) I also. Sat in the Stretford end for the Le Tiss/Taibi game. I was quiet all game and because of that they knew who I supported and I got some abuse but I was quiet.... Right up until Beattie was through one v one in the last minute.

There were Everton fans sat with Saints fans for the home game - I loved their slow clap each time we scored!

I was in the Itchen North next to a Swans fan who started singing... Honestly, everyone just looked amused by the whole situation. The stewards didn't even bat an eyelid.

When we played Millwall in the Fa Cup in 2003, there were little pockets of them all round St Mary's, and they all jumped up when Steve Claridge scored before half time. I don't think much happened at the time, but there were lots of empty seats in the second half so presumably the stewards identified them and waited til half time to throw them out.

Not sure if any Saints fans sat with the home supporters for the replay at The New Den, but I somehow doubt it.
