    Taken from nufc.com

Saturday's Mail newspaper reports that our early season derby fixture on wearyside will go ahead with a Sunday Noon kickoff, as was the case back in January.

Our visit to the dark place is set to be kick off at Noon on Sunday August 21st and therefore like the 1-1 draw there last season, not be transmitted live by Sky or ESPN - although the usual foreign coverage is expected.

Confirmation of this may follow on Monday morning, when the first live TV selections are published.

Sounds like it won't be on TV again...

  2. It's because the derby day atmosphere is much better at St James' and the TV companies like us more. It's not being biased, it's just a fact.

I thought the only reason it wasn't aired in January was because of it being at the same time as the Birmingham derby?

I know you can shout and scream and jump up and down if front of the box, but it's not quite the same as actually being at the game.

It's always a game well worth the effort of going to. For those that go for the first time it's an unforgettable moment.

    The atmosphere is absolutely amazing.

Ridiculous reason, they'd lose more viewers if it clashed with Bargain Hunt.

Think it was one per person until almost the day of the game.

Would walk through fire to get tickets for it and go to it, but I physically can't due to lack of loyalty points :(

I guess I understand them trying to be fair, since ours was rightly favoured on Halloween, but don't schedule two derbies at the same time dammit!
...on second thought, **** being fair! Forget the "second city" and their wannabe hooligan ways!

    This.

Both derby games were on the same day and Sky decided to show ours first and then the Brummies/Villa later on in the year

Oh well, 1 less derby this year...good riddance to bad fans. I'd been neutral to Birmingham City, and despite Hughton's hiring, I won't forgive them yet for throwing **** down on our section in May

Had a bit of a chat with TC while we were waiting in a massive queue for drinks. He was talking fine then, don't know if he could still talk after the game though. He could however stamp his bloody feet, I was downstairs on the coach and he was directly above me! <grr>

This is a load of **** from NUFC.com (for once...very good website) the last two derbies have been at 12 and the first one was shown on Sky regardless of the change of time. It is just whether or not Sky change there times in order to have it on. If they decide they don't want a game at 12 o'clock then would ESPN turn down such a lucrative game? I doubt it!

When did they do that? Don't recall seeing anything been thrown?

<laugh> Can imagine! Thought he got the train back?

Almost certain he came back on the coach, seem to remember him chatting up the buxom young blonde courier on the coach.
