According to Radio Leeds yesterday it would appear that Salerno has left the club has anyone else heard this rumour is the club getting ready to sell to Red Bull and thus end the circus that's become the laughing stock of the country .Lets hope so.I firmly believe that Redders will also depart we don't need a ring master of his class.Whats needed is stability and someone who sounds like he is in charge some one with authorityI have no suggestions I just hope he,s English and not some cheap foreign has been
I posted a news link the other day reporting that Palermo are chasing him. All a bit of a mess at the moment....
Well it looks like they have got him! Will that mean he takes back Bamba and Nogyt with him I hope not
Bamba won't go if we offer him a deal. Nogyt, not seen him so not sure why this would be a problem. Warburton, McClaren or old bent nose from Ipswich will all be available. But I hope for better than any of these.
Brain Warburton why didn't I think of him he would be ideal McClaren and Macarthy not up to it I critisied his tack ticks against Bournemouth on Friday
We could have Jose in charge of coaching and Wenger as his assistant it won't change a thing with Cellino in charge. I guarantee that if Cellino doesn't sell to RB the next coach in will have us playing a diamond formation. Cellino allowed Redfearn to have this responsible for team selection clause written into his contract while he is banned from being near the club, the next coach won't have the same luxury. Redfearn had loan targets that included wingers, he never got them, that was Cellino trying to force the diamond as the only option.
If RB take over, I hope they get in Strachan. He's done wonders for Scotland. Bit like Leeds these days - fcuk all to work with, but still exceeds expectations enormously. Can't think of a negative aspect to his appointment at all.
I don't agree that there's **** all to work with, and I don't think it's necessary to have have RB come in and change everything about the club we've grown up with. There's a thriving academy, just imagine what a Howe or a Warburton would achieve at Leeds. All it takes is stability from the top which would obviously entail a change of ownership, but it wouldn't need a megabucks global brand. It's been shown that promotion can be achieved on a shoestring. A decent coach/manager with stability at the top and the place would be buzzing.
If popping in to say hello to the big boys is the ambition, if you would like Champions League football and a challenge for the title it will never be done on a budget. Who is responsible for that thriving academy? Without Redfearn and with Cellino we will have some cheap import in charge, he will be changed every 6 months... Okay stopped myself there, just read your comments again and see "Obviously a change of ownership..." - I would be happy for a rich owner who could run the club properly with the best interest of the club at heart but they haven't been queuing up for the last 12 years.
@TBG2005: Red Bull Head of Global Soccer Oliver Mintzlaff told German news agency DPA: "Another involvement in football is not planned." #lufc On Twitter just now. from another forum.
I've had that dream too! But sadly, I'm still waiting in real life. Only waited 12 years so far - how many more should I wait?
I would love to be a fly on the wall in the dressing room at half time if the team were under performing and not giving it 100% with him in charge.
I would respectfully disagree with this one Ristac, while it's true he was harping on about bringing wide players in, he never tried or experimented with the wide players we already had, like Adryan, Monty and Duke. He was harping on about bringing a decent striker in too, but wouldn't pick Antenucci to start, instead kept playing a player who couldn't score past my blind grandma.
He is playing Taylor and Byram wide, Cellino brought him in Bamba after selling Warnock and Pearce a crocked N'Goyi and Cani - He has pressure on him to not play Antenucci and these are all facts so with respect I don't mind you disagreeing but as I have said already it isn't all Redfearn's fault. When he is replaced and when it is the same old thing over again then maybe you will change your opinion that Cellino is just as much if not more to blame
I like Cellino, I think he took our club by the scruff of the neck and give it a good shaking when it was needed, I don't always agree with everything Cellino says and does, but he has stabilised us on the financial side of things, which is a big part of the foundations for any club. Cellino did say he needed two seasons to get us promoted and I'm prepared to give him that to be fair. He's new to English football and learning the ropes, some the easy way and some the hard way. In all honesty, next season will be the telling factor for him if we finish outside the top 6.
Fair enough, I hope you are right but I expect more of the same next season unless he sells us. Next season don't go banging your head against the wall in frustration when the new coach switches us to a diamond formation or get excited with 5 new loan signings with a 'view to a permanent' contract that fails to materialise because A we don't get into the top 6 and B their wages are too high
From what I hear I wouldn't be that confident he has stabilised the club financially. The difference is that he is now the major creditor charging us 15% on every penny he has loaned us. That's loaned, not invested.
I understand your point Chippy, but I believe all owners do that; I personally disagree with it as an owner should plough his own money into his business if needed, but not as a loan. Leeds apparently are virtually self sustaining thanks to his shake up, doesn't mean we're 100% self sustaining yet but we are close. According to someone who put a list up on here previously, we're the third club in championship to have the least debts, before that we were sinking fast.
