Morning all on this bright and sunny Easter Sunday morning. Hope you get your fair share of chocolate eggs. :emoticon-0100-smile

Family day today, so instead of our quiet twosome we will be up to seven. Need to pop along to the bakers to get extra supplies of bread in. The smell in the shop should be good.:emoticon-0142-happy

Morning (just) all from a sunny bandit country. Dropped Little Miss W_Y at the station at 08.30 as she has to work and then went to the gym to burn off a few calories in prep for today. Mrs W_Y, myself and the 2 sons are out for lunch at my local - that has turned into a wonderful little restaurant. So will be putting a few back on.
I have not been contributing much over the past few weeks as I have had a few health issues. I have had terrible pains in my neck/back/shoulder/arm since beginning of Feb - consultant thinks it's a trapped nerve in my neck. Scan shows I have worn discs in my neck vertebrae and he thinks it's nipped there - started Physic and it is helping, but typing this is difficult. When I first went to see my GP about it, she noticed I had not had a check out in years, so I had blood tests and BP checking and the blood tests and some strange results which could wave been caused the samples getting cold being transported to the hospital, so i went there to have some more tests. Whilst there I had another chest X-Ray as I had some issues before Xmas and she wanted to see if they had gone. Blood results show a higher level of AST enzyme in my blood which indicates some liver damage, so I have now had a scan on my liver and associated bits! and another blood test. So will review all results with the GP on Tuesday to see next steps. One big positive is that I have cut down on carbs including beer and been more regular at the gym - I have lost 15Kgs in 12 weeks! and I have feeling far healthier than I have in years.
Interesting is that I have been having private treatment on my neck using my BUPA account and the blood tests and liver scans have been with the NHS so far and to be honest the level of service has been pretty equal - about 40 mins wait at the hospital to have a blood test, but I don't think that it so bad. But I went in early for my liver scan!
Have a wonderful Easter everyone, enjoy the start of Spring with your friends and family and start looking forward to a very exciting few weeks.

Morning all from a slightly overcast Jersey. I just had a good weekend with eldest, who was here when I got home from work and went back to his Mum yesterday afternoon. He would still be here if it wasn't for the Hill Climb in the north-east of the island today. His Mum is reasonably well-known by the organisers of the event, and she asked if he could attend scrutineering because he's doing a degree in motorsport engineering and they agreed. He's then going to watch the event, which means he'll miss seeing today's match, which he's disappointed about.
W_Y, I echo Dan's wishes. When I spoke to my Mum yesterday, she told me about a health scare she had that morning. Every Sunday, she takes her dog to a park to play with a couple of dogs, and yesterday she tried to get there quicker than normal and trying to prevent that, my Mum held on to the lead a bit tighter. When she got to the park, my Mum was breathless and had a pain in her chest. She was able to recover but is still going to see her GP about it. She thinks the reason the dog was pulling so much is because she had picked up the scent of one of the dogs she was going to play with.

Don't worry about them Barry, they'll slip up a time or two yet, they almost did yesterday until the ref remembered to give them a penalty! ;)

Good morning all from a spring-like morning in Weston-super-Mare!

    Have a good day! <ok>

Morning all, Spring is here with the hedgerows turning green, cowslips along the verges and the cuckoo in full voice. Super day to be outside, but must go to my French lesson first. <yikes>
Hope the medics can sort you out w_y. Not being able to type on here is a serious matter. :emoticon-0105-wink:

Sorry to hear your news W_Y and hope it all gets sorted soon....... Doesn't get easy as we get older eh... the body def doesn't take it like it did.... getting diabetes 10 years ago or so was the starter for me in healthy eating... and no more beer :(
My hip has been playing up for a few weeks.... and finally got to see my Dr on the w/e ... I was expecting it was the end of the road and was going to be sent for a hip joint replacement.... but he says it looks to be inflamed "bursa"... not yet researched it...... so was confident enough to do a half decent country walk this w/e with no bas side effects..... so Physio for me.

Been very busy here..... we finally moved my mum up live with us two weeks back.... so I have "time" again.....

Just got our tickets to go to Forest away.... and then for the Sheffield Weds game... virtually the last two together in the ground!

    COYH!!

Hope you get sorted soon... <ok>

M Mackay. Ha Ha Ha. What goes around comes around! When you are ruthless to other people expect them to laugh when the boot is on the other foot.

Specify what you're on about with your 'ruthless to other people-'?
