Fair point but fonte and alderveireld are pretty good. Clyne and Bert are also good.

"In case you hadn't noticed (to quote you back).... We are 6th in the league, so I think we've done pretty well.

    1. Yes we did it in league 1.... It was league one FFs

    2. Pelle isn't the best at flicking it on and we'd need to change our style for that

    3. The direct route is so easy to defend against if it is a ball in to the big man. Now if you want to play direct, play Mane down the middle with Long and Elia either side and play "direct" into the channels on angles. Direct isn't about lumping it to a big man, it is about playing the ball forward, strategically well, quickly and by missing the middle out.

What you are talking about isn't Direct football in its best used way though; it is hoof ball. My post above gives more on that.

My old man said to me he felt like, watching this game, it was an end of season dead-rubber.

Hard to disagree, wasn't much to get animated or excited about - and I don't really care that we lost.

    Onto the next.

lol. For all your withering criticism of my footballing knowledge, I have also been suggesting this.

I don't know if we need to go all out, so I'm okay with Tadic on the left though. We could only go speed/direct on the right, but we'd have Tadic/Bertrand.

But I like Long on the right. Out of everyone one the team, he probably makes the best runs. It's easier to defend him if he's in the middle with two CBs. Also, I've realized he can cross a bit.

I'm with the "meh" gang on this one. Most of our squad haven't trained together for two weeks, and have been no doubt going flat out to impress their international managers etc. Everton, despite their league position, are a top 8 quality team.

Regarding our attack. Mane absolutely has to play, and we need someone who is willing to tw@t the ball from 25 yards out. I can't remember a bunch of players so unwilling to shoot from range.

Whilst we have looked nervous in front of goal these last few weeks I think this was a game where Everton limited our chances more than saints not taking them. Fair play to Everton they had to work really hard defensively to keep the three points and the fact that Martinez took off both strikers late on shows the respect he had for our attacking threat.

Did I discuss anything with you today? I am not saying going all out either, I'm just trying to counter fans saying we should "lump it to Pelle"

You may also note that for several months I was asking for trying something different by using the speed demons.

The most annoying thing though is those fans moaning like crap at the team and Korman, because we lost a game.

There were some right pricks in the stands yesterday. Firstly, there was an Everton fan right behind me, with an Everton scarf on, and celebrated when they scored. Inevitably, that caused some anger from some people. I wasn't that fussed he was there as he was with some Saints fans who had bought the tickets so he had no choice of where to be. Wearing the scarf and celebrating was such an idiotic thing to do though. He was ejected but a Saints fan, rather than talk to a steward decided to take matters into his own hands and start swearing at him and threatening him. As a result a massive argument erupted, with mates on each side backing up which very nearly got completely out of hand. And there were young kids around. ****ing twats.

I find it best to keep away from the discussion sites after a defeat, some of our 'fans' are such bad losers, it is best to let them vent their spleens for a while, then later we can get back to a reasoned discussion.

I see Hull had Meyler sent off yesterday. is he a threat normally? Gaston was injured too, but I doubt he would have played against us anyway?

Just seen Sky highlights...all they showed was the soft goal (their words) of Everton and the Pelle and JWP (2) shots. Shows that this was very little different from matches we have won.

I would have started with the same line up as the Chelsea game personally.

I have to take issue with this stand. Again. It's not anywhere near moaning like crap.If you look at the match facts, we basically created only two chances and were playing evidently worse than we did, for instance, away against league leaders Chelsea. So we weren't playing at our full potential: we had a poor-ish game. It's no big deal, it happens. But I don't see why we should hide it so that we don't annoy you.
