Meh, I dragged him to that point on purpose. He's cleverer than me so had to use my experience to down him.
I have but then I've spent time in mental health hospital twice. Before you go to your treatment ward which best serves your symptoms you spend two weeks on an assessment ward. That's all types of mental health problems together. That's everything from anorexia sufferers to schizophrenic in states of psychosis and everything in between. If he was suffering psychosis or from delusional behavior, which he could have been and we don't know if he was and probably never will he would have purposely done it it. He may have done it on purpose but we simply don't know if he did, depends on his frame of mind. Ludwig Wittgenstein, a philosopher who specialised in logic once said "If a lion could speak, we could not understand him." You know of this concept fella?
A rationally thinking man wouldn't do that though, that's the point you's are missing. I wouldn't ever think of doing that, however, as already said, I know what I'm capable of when not thinking straight and I couldn't put it past myself to do the same as this man. It's doing me head in now talking like this because it makes me look like a ****ing idiot. I'm going to keep doing it though until people realise the full spectrum of depression and other mental illnesses
You like me have nearly crossed the line of insanity fella. If it wasn't for being admitted I could well have killed someone.
With respect lads, neither of you fly planes. We are/were specifically chatting about this bloke. Discussing mental health in General is a different subject albeit there are correlations to be drawn. The guy chose not to go ahead and take time off which was prescribed, that shows his intentions to me, as a murderer, and I refuse to acknowledge solely his depression as an explanation for his actions.
Fair dos fella. Still maintain that amusing he choose shows a lack of understanding of what mental health can actually do to a person, it's no defence of the pilot, he may or may not have chosen to do it. But i can recognise it's a possibility he could have had no control of his actions. Really saddens me when such intelligent men treat this possibility like it's myth. There's people who believe anxiety is put on too. But I get why fella and it doesn't anger me, it appears to be the speaking Lion theory.
Spot on mate...I don't think that anyone can fully understand what was going through this mans mind...Every case of mental health is as unique as a finger print, so that is why I will refuse to judge..
It is mate, depends what you take from it. I think it can be viewed from a couple of angles and it took me a while to work out my real meaning of the phrase, now I love it because I often say it to people and it leaves them scratching their heads as I walk off
It's very subjective, as is all philosophy but it can apply to so much when you think about. Mind blowing theory which throws so much scrutiny onto Fraud's theories regarding dream interpretation.
