    In a word, yes.

A championship club (who operate on much smaller budgets and are often semi-pro) would have to out-compete at least one of the four super league clubs in a 7 game mini-league to get promoted.

Its possible but very unlikely, it gives the appearance of promotion/relegation but I'd be very surprised if any team goes up or down.

I'm not arguing, simply making an observation. It's Airlie arguing against what's plain to see.

Discussion is what forum's are for.

What comes to your mind if you're asked about a football club?

Your ability to argue with anyone about anything and almost always come off second best is quite astounding, you think there would be at least one subject on which you'd be able to exert some form superiority but once again you've come up short.

From you, that's funny. It's a forum for people to share views. I shared one. You not being comfortable with it, doesn't mean I'm being argumentative. If anything, I reckon a decent percentage of your posts are you flaming up in favour of rl.

Now, be honest and realistic, if you asked the next 100 people you meet, or even the first 100 at an fc game to name a football club, how many would you expect to mention Hull FC?

Now lets be honest and realistic, is that the question you originally posed or is it some tangent your using to try and claw back some credibility?

I'll be honest, I don't have time to indulge an old bloke sat behind his computer, its a bank holiday and there are better things to be doing, I'm off to make the most of it, I suggest you do the same.

    Have a good one.

<laugh> Before you ploughed in looking for an argument, and tried to slide to personal comments my observation was exactly as it still is.

I'm guessing you know roughly how many of a sample would say Hull FC when asked to name a Football Club. That was my initial point, and looks to be the last.

    Happy Easter. <ok>

I think the challenge cup games over the next few weeks will give us a better indication of whether anyone will come up or not, but I think leigh could well be playing Super League next year.

It's a shame but I don't think radders has got long left now.

Just done a spot of research and I understand the format now.
4 bottoms in SL join 4 top teams from Championship and play each other in a round robin 7 game league.
Top 3 keep SL status and 4th/5th play-off for the fourth spot.

It's a **** way to decide promotion/relegation. It wouldn't be so bad if the bottom SL club were definitely relegated and the winner of the Champs
promoted. That way at least form over the regular season is punished/rewarded.

I know the game, and I enjoyed seeing a very efficient defensive performance from Hull KR. I suggest, once again, that the reason you didn't enjoy it was because your team were poor.

I didn't say football fans don't complain about the refs; they certainly do. It's just that, in my experience of watching both sports, over 40-odd years, I would say without a question of doubt that RL fans are far and away the biggest moaners of the lot.

Managers/coaches complaining about the ref is a different matter, and I have to agree that football managers are a nightmare in this respect.

Ask an American about football and the round ball game won't occur to him at all.

    No it isn't,
    FC.....Football club.
    Hull FC........football club?
Hull RLFC dropped the RL at the same time they tried to re brand themselves as 'Hull's Premier Sports Club'
Hull FC is a marketing ploy.
But I suppose it's easier to remember then Gateshead Thunder trading as Hull FC.

The only other city to have 2 clubs, apart from the brief time they had 2 clubs in London playing in front of 2 men and a dog, is Leeds. Leeds are the only city to have two teams to win the challenge cup at
Wembley. Also the 54,000 crowd for Leeds v Hunslet played at Elland Road is the biggest for a game which was not a challenge cup final or a Grand Final. And double the highest crowd for a Hull v Rovers game in Hull. Which was also played at the local football ground.

Wigan v St Helens was a 24,000 sell out with thousands more wanting tickets.

Apparently the capital of rugby is Hull.

To be fair football covered a number of versions of the game as there weren't different codes when FC were formed by a some public schoolboys from York. They were FC back in 1865. We were AFC because of this. Same with Leeds United being AFC though they have since the 1960s normally only shown FC on their shirts.Typical Hull to go for rugby and not football like most other cities. Always have been behind other places.<laugh>

Yet when someone tries to be first and pave the way, a small group of you naturally try to to stop him.
