Herrera and Mata. Imagine where we'd be if they'd played all season. Cant wait to play City or Arsenal. I really think we should be looking up and aiming for 2nd.

I think it's safe to say we'd have likely secured 2nd long ago.

Mata and Herrera must be Spain's best CM and AM midfielders. Fabregas on the bench.

Dunno. Think both are better than they were earlier in the season. Both played that horror game v Leicester and didn't look like they do now.

Mata has clearly worked on the defensive side of things and Herrera looks much better positionally. Far too often he would go chasing after players or the ball.

Herrera said himself that his break from the side worked for him. Did an interview a few weeks back. Really good read too. If you havent read it, give it a google.

You're risking a meltdown by making such a claim treble. Some clueless chav or some theorist will have heart failure!

I think Carrick is the key there mate. Those two are fine, just need Carrick to shore up the defensive role. A settled back 4 and we'll be fine. But none of that takes away from Herrera and Mata. Just pure jizz mate

I thought they'd been relegated in the past as well.

But then I remembered that football only started in 1992 <ok>

I did have my doubts but I was in a rush, I think I must have misread it! It was on the Villa wikki page so deserve any stick.

Everton have never been out of the top division though. <ok>

Everton and Arsenal have definitely been relegated in the past. But the really long past, like the 1950s for Everton I think and even further back for Arsenal.

Villa were relegated in the early 80s I think. Definitely heard something about them being relegated within a few years of winning the European Cup.

Yep. 1913/14 for Arsenal and 1951 for Everton.

I always believed neither had ever been relegated to he honest. One of football myths I guess.

Where do these myths come from I wonder? I never bothered looking Everton up because I'm more or less certain I've heard that and about the Arse on BBC.

No idea. I guess in Arsenals case, very few people are alive today that witnessed it.
