    Think the second save from Howard might be even more impressive than the first even though it looked so simple straight down the middle, that moved like a Roberto Carlos free-kick and he was totally committed the other way but still somehow got a strong hand to it. We really don't need an inspired Tim Howard today.

    I love me some Big Vic but how on earth has Ron not categorically banned him from shooting outside the box (empty nets aside...)? I'd genuinely rather Kelv tried to score from kick offs.

    To be fair, Elia hasn't done anything since those goals against Newcastle. No goals, no assists, I don't remember even any chances he created.

    Elia's kind of a mystery. He seems to work pretty hard. He's fast. He makes at least one really good move a game. There's nothing you can point at where he's shown a major flaw or makes bad mistakes. But in the end, he doesn't make anything happen either.

    This is going pretty much as I feared, except we have more of the play. We are are a good side but just not quite good enough to compete with the big boys. If we turn this around I will of course take it all back.

    Indeed, not done anything particularly wrong either but those goals have bought him a lot of goodwill. In his last four games he's had 3 shots OT, 8 off, 1 key pass and attempted 10 crosses with not a single one finding a teammate.

    Can all be forgiven with a goal here Elly!
