I wouldn't mind leaving my job as a "laughing stock" having won every domestic & European club trophy possible bar the league, played and captain my boyhood club for 10+ years, played for my country over 100 times and earned millions and millions of pounds.

Internet forums warriors could laugh at me all they like as I fly around the world holidaying in my retirement at 40

 

So we'll just have to win the FA Cup in order to make this a season worth remembering.

 

Things are set to go even more tits up come Wednesday I fear.

 

I hate to get my hopes up. As we are on for some possible disappointment at Blackburn. Too many here have already won the FA cup.

 

No easy games in the cup but I'm going to believe, winning the cup turns a **** season into a great one! Beat Blackburn then Villa and hopefully get revenge on The Gooners!

Imo lfc have the same issue, rodgers will take too long to turn this round. It seem to take an age to fall upon a solution

But I can tell rodgers now taking henderson out of the centre and retaining Mr Allen or lucas as a midfield duo is not the way

Rodgers has 3 simple premises

1. Get high up the pitch

2. Press hard on certain scenarios like ball played high or player facing own goal etc

3. Pass it fast and accurate

I fail to understand how the **** playing a back 3 who en masse went 15 yards deeper within 30 seconds and two average cms who sat back with them created these 3 prerequisites

It's high time we focused back on the basics again. 4-3-3 with runners not the game we are at now

Why the teams dropped off so much I dunno but it was coming for a few weeks swansea showed all the same problems so a month later no changes yet

What we shouldn't be doing is altering things that work. We all know Coutinho and Sterling both play best as AMs, we know Hendo is our midfield and we know Can as been playing very well at RCB too. Don't move them, build the rest of the team around them! With Skrtel and Migs in there too, that's the spine of the side that should be played in every game possible.

 

Skrtel plays today and we are not conceding the first two goals. Especially the second one.
So our problem is we have one semi reliable central defender when we should have at least 3 reliable ones.

Lucas needs replacing. Then we need a striker or two badly. Johnson and Moreno should be sent on their way post haste. I have had it with Moreno, he's just a liability against good opponents.

 

All that money spent in the Summer and we still have a **** defence. Moreno is just not a defender, we should look at LB's in the summer and just use Moreno as a winger. We should also be looking at CB's, Skrtel is average, Toure is finished, Lovren is a failure and Can is a midfielder. That leaves us with Sakho and its unbelievable we let it come to that, ONE good defender in the whole club.

Problem is we wasted this last summer and its chance to buy real quality players (with the CL allure) and will now have to settle for buying lesser quality and average players from other PL teams like we did last Summer.
