I've gone with a triple for the weekend. Sounders, Dallas & Earthquakes @ 12.73/1 with Bet 365.

Anyone else having a MLS flutter? I'm keeping MLS separate from my general picks until I know my onions.

Pretty sure that sports betting is illegal even at Indian casinos, think I would have to drive into Nevada to place a bet.

Na I dont think there should be casinos at all here. They are always full of senior citizens blowing their social security checks or drug addicts. One of the 2 casinos in Orville actually has a welfare atm that takes their welfare checks and turns it into cash right there so they can blow all their money. At least places like Atlantic city, reno and vegas draw in tourists who have money and arent already poor but places like they have around here are leaches and destroy local communities.

Fair point. Not fair on people who enjoy a responsible bet but like you say it brings it's problems. Don't get many casinos here, cities have the odd couple. It's the casino machines in the sports bookmakers which are the problem here. you can bet £300 a minute on them. They need banning quickly as bookies only allowed three machines a shop, now they're are opening multiple shops in yards from each other just install extra machines, they're that lucrative, all these bookie are virtually deserted of people betting on sports. Everyone does that online now because of cash out facilities.

I dont think it would be as big of a problem if there werent as many of them as there are. Every tribe either has one or more than one of them and every tribe that doesnt is trying to get them. Some tribes are actually trying to trade land for new pieces of land so they can put casinos in places that are no where near their tribal land such as there was this one last year that was trying to trade some land for a strip mall in the center of a city so they could put a casino there. The voters denied their ability to do that last election season but they will try again. The tribes do not really even own it as the big casino companies from vegas and asia pay for the casino and own it and the tribe just gets a %. Part of the problem is the tribal land is only out in rural areas and there are so many casinos that catch area for each is very small meaning that only the couple that are near "major" cities have actually wealthy people going to them. You get ones like the ones near me where you can watch people dealing meth, smoking meth in the parking lot out in the open and they have shootings all the time. There are probably just as many biker gang members at them as there are people driving in to spend the weekend.

There are some benefits for major cities I could see as you do not want people going to organized crime bookies to make sports bets which happens in most major cities in the US. Its not that I am opposed to the idea of legalized gambling just that this wild west anything goes way they do it in cali is a really bad idea.

Well prohibition proved if you try to stop somebody doing something, they'll still find away of doing it. People like to gamble have sex and chase highs regardless of the law. So things like gambling, prostitution and Drugs may as well be legalised and governed properly and safety, but can you trust politicians to set up the legislation properly so it can't be exploited? Can they be trusted to invest enough to make the new systems watertight? Don't think I'd trust our politicians to set it up, they make a mess of everything. But I like Holland's way of life but would never trust British politics to deliver it. Meanwhile the sex and drug trade in this country is thriving and funding more crime. Where young lasses are robbed of their innocence and dignity by force and addicts are putting dodgy impure chemicals into their bodies costing the NHS a fortune.

Cali has a lot of problems with lack of control when they allow things. Basically as I see it what Cali does is they say, we should allow these things because people should have the freedom to decide themselves. Which is fine, I like that idea. Then what they do is set up 0 rules about how it should operate (because politicians are evil, grrrr free market yea!!) and then what happens is everyplace that has money or wealth keeps all the things they are allowing out in the poor areas where all the negative things associated with them occur to poor people. People with wealth have the ability to change zoning etc to keep all those things away from them.

So, here in cali they allow liqueur stores, and they are freaking everywhere because of it, they are dirty nasty always in the poor areas, they get robbed all the time etc. Where I am from all liqueur stores are illegal and all liqueur has to be sold through state facilities called ABC stores so in VA where I am from they are called VABC stores and they are only open in the day time, only open m-saturday. they have security guards to stop robberies and are really clean and nice and are not in poor areas. They are in the center of a town or city in a place that is basically the same distance for everyone in the catch area and most cities only have one of them. The proceeds are used to pay for the school systems as they are not private businesses.

Cali allows casinos (mostly in poor areas again) which most east coast places do not but those that do are heavily regulated about where they are and the number that are allowed to exist so they turn them into vacation or weekend locations full of tourists.

Cali allows medical marijuana stores and just like liqueur stores there is no control over where they are, how many of them there are and when they stay open. So you have them everywhere (mainly in poor areas again) and they have the same problems that liqueur stores do because of it.

If any of that makes sense. Its not like I dont think these things should exist but here people literally think that the gov is so evil they cant get anything right and then literally it all goes to hell because no one is regulating it at all.

Sounds like the distance between the classes is a massive problem over there which is being exploited thanks to the lack of regulation. Bad enough here under a Tory government but the states sounds a nightmare. I don't think I could be happy living in the states.

Every state has its own issues, the U.S. is really a collection of countries with freedom of movement sort of like the EU. I've been to 14 countries in 3 continents, and lived in 3 countries and with all the problems we have there is no other country that I would want to live in.

Playoffs, not much beyond that really. They improved their squad but there are some really big holes in it still especially at RB and LB. Also they only have 1 striker of any quality and he cant hold it up so playing a lot of formations doesnt work. This is why sometimes they look really good like the 3-1 game against Seattle this season and other games they look like dog ****, as the formations they can play only match up against certain teams.

Are DC United the worst supported team in MLS or is it just the size of the stadium they play in ?

Close to the worst. It also doesnt help that they play in RFK which can hold like 70,000 and they only try to sell seats for like 20,000 (they never even sell that many) so even if they were to sell out, which never happens, it always looks like the stadium is 1/7th full. Ive been to a couple DC United games at RFK and their support is horrid.
