No doubt at Lingfield today they will pay tribute to Ron Muddle, the founder of the fibresand track there who passed this week at the ripe old age of 99. The jokingly named “All Weather Championship” sees a few French and Irish raiders assembled to take on a legion of Godolphin runners, seven from Charlie Appleby’s yard, for disproportionate money compared to quality. It is easy to bypass odds on favourite Tryster in the feature event given that he needs everything to fall right for him. The only realistic bet on the card looks like MindUrOwnBusiness in the 3:15, although the favourite is weighted to reverse their last meeting. Why do I think this could be one of the shortest daily threads of the year?
Morning All. Today's lucky15. Lingfield Park,1-40.Khatiba. Musselburgh,2-25.Fire Fighting. Lingfield Park,3-15.Lunar Deity. Lingfield Park,4-45.MymateChris. Good luck to all.
Watford to beat Derby @11/4 -I'm also going to do Derby half time Watford full time at 40/1-Derby seem to fade and concede in the second half -Watford in contrast seem very adept at scoring late in games particularly away from home!
Everything went wrong for him last time and he still won because he was different class. 4/1 that day though and ill leave him for the mugs today at odds on. There is potential for a false race but he probably has the gears to overcome it anyway.
Aramist @ 9s Mussleburgh 2.25. First outing of the season and a distant 2nd lto out in the November handicap but this one has won on seasonal debut before. Soft ground should be perfect and Swinbank has just shy of a 20% winners record at this venue. Kings Bayonet in the lucky last at Lingfield. Alan King's runner is a whopping 50/1 for this. Has been staying on, never nearer over shorter trips this winter on the all weather but has won over 20F over hurdles so maybe this longer trip will suit. Good luck all.
Morning All 3 bets for me at Lingfield today: 2.10 Intransigent 16/1 (EW) - Fancy a good run from this one today. Singles & Doubles 2.40 Lingfield Lexington Times 11/4 - Trappy race but think the step up in distance will be fine 3.15 Lingfield Sovereign Debt 3/1 - Been sent this one by a tipping line. Cheers Trev

Ahem, nice name UC, means in Malay/Indonesian Mr. Noble or Mr. Duke! Good luck! (Sorry, showing off I know, but used to speak a little Malay in my younger days, mainly for chasing the girls, which one cannot do nowadays out there.....). Note for Mr. Boil: But which ones do I back, can't back 'em all. Yeah, I know, only the winners!
Today is not a serious punting day. I am surprised by how many people have posted already. We must be a sad bunch with nothing better to do! It must be a religious holiday in France so I am amazed they have racing at Auteuil. Good luck this afternoon to Rebecca Bastiman with ‘Scotty’ (Borderlescott) running in the race named in his honour (Musselburgh 3:30) at the ripe old age of thirteen. Since she took out the license at the start of 2015, she has had eleven runners (one winner at 33/1) which is fewer than Scotty has victories (fourteen). He was touched off in the race last year and it would be wonderful if he could go one better for her. I know he is her favourite – she used to do him when her father trained him and those wins in the Nunthorpe will always be with her. When he originally retired he was so miserable that the owners brought him back – what good sports paying the bills to keep the old boy happy.
2.10 Lingfield: INTRANSIGENT 16/1 I was keeping a close eye on how the French filly FRELES got on in the opener as Intransigent beat her over course and distance to qualify for this race. His course form is very good and I was at Chester the day he stormed clear under Oisin Murphy. A left handed track, plenty of pace means he can deal with the draw in stall 9 and come fast and late to hopefully land this at a tasty price.
Poor by Ryan Moore on Lamar in the first as he did all that you never do on the fibresand. You either tuck in or take the lead at the first turn from out wide but never travel four or five deep, you also never ask to race and make ground that deep mid race to try and make up the ground you are losing throughout due to travelling wide. You may lose if you tuck in due to not getting the gaps, you may lose if getting to the front by having nothing in the half furlong, but you will definitely lose when travelling so deep and making ground so wide mid race.
