My order of who fared the best (not necessarily who I agree with, but who I think coped the best throughout the debate):
    1) Farage
    2) Sturgeon
    3) Cameron
    4) Milliband
    5) Clegg
    6) Wood
    7) Bennett (Totally mad!!)

Bennett could be Peggy, Farage is Ted Bovis. Miliband and Sturgeon could be the two dancers that look like they've constantly trodden in ****.

I actually think the four 'minor' parties came out best as they weren't caught up in the yah-boo shyte the Lib/Lab/Cons usually engage in.

Farage was the most comfortable dealing with the usualjibes...

I actually thought that sturgeon came across as a genuine person and spoke very well. Farage was in his element and debated well probably due to his barrister background. The Green party and Welsh lass were ok but they aren't going to have any real impact at the election. Cameron had the hardest job as he had to defend the past 5 years. I really wanted to reach into the telly and strangle millibsnd he was so condescending.
    Thought clegg is just whisy/washy.
The lass presenting did a good job.

Thought Farage was tops tonight - he was clever in appearing to comment to the tv audience from the side of the stage and with some humour, same approach as Wogan on Eurovision

The 3 ladies were the best at the Chat as I expected. That Welsh Leaane (sp? ) was the best for me, she talked solidly about the real problems, Wales, poverty there, but also more practically than the other 2 about income limitations.

Interesting tonight, however I really didn't learn anything and I doubt if anyone else did, if they are being honest. There was nothing to change anybody's mind here.

Tonight was always going to be toughest for Cameron as the incumbent, he had most to lose, and I think did well to steer clear of the many traps that Milliband clearly tried to lay for him. Farage talked as if he was down the pub - maybe popularist, however far from statesmanlike and it'd be like putting Prince Philip in front of the chinese again if he's anywhere near power. Sturgeon showed she can debate, but also that she clearly dislikes the union, and so I'm baffled why anyone would vote for her to represent that union. Greens and Plaid did ok, but they are never going to hold any balance of power. And Clegg?

Clegg was less than useless - what a difference five years in office makes, eh? Be careful what you wish for.

Just got in, having missed the debate. Not sure I've got much of an insight from reading the 'analysis' on here - the polls have called Miliband the winner. I won my bet on Bennett being judged to have performed worst though,

Milliband was his usual self - loads of soundbites, trying to discredit the Tories rather than be constructive, and clearly gagging for some cheese...

Milliband disappointed me to be honest. He kept repeating himself. Cameron used scripted stilted. It was the smaller parties that said anything approaching substance. The 3 ladies especially did well in the time limitations they had, and came over more as people than the 2 puppets from the 2 big groupings.

Didn't see it, but the the totals of the snap polls rated it
    Cameron
    Milliband
    Farage
    Sturgeon
    Clegg
    Bennett
    Wood

Not much between the top 4.

BBC haters - on their news app the only clip was of Cameron beating down a criticism from Clegg and then having a go at Miliband. Right wing capitalist lackeys, eh?

I suspect its just reinforced people's existing views. Only Cameron and Miliband had anything at stake, as they are the only ones who have a chance of being held accoutable for what they said.

Maybe even the BBC can spot that Ed's a loser, Stopped clock and all that.

They will be back to their old ways soon enough don't worry.

Lets be honest if they could back a bowel of rice cakes and tofu for PM they probably would.

I thought Sturgeon did really well. Dignified and intelligent.
Agree with news this morning - this debate won't change many, if any, minds.

Erm, no. The polls have showed that Cameron was the winner..................just! There was nothing really between the top four in the polls.
Considering that, as the standing PM, Cam had the most to lose I thought he did pretty well, although both he and Milli sounded very scripted and over rehearsed.
Sturgeon did very well and seems to believe what she's saying. Trouble is, I seldom agree with anything she is saying.

I don't think anybody here set out to give 'analysis' to provide insight to you or anybody else for that matter. If you want 'analysis' then I suggest The Guardian....or better still Quentin Letts....

I'm getting confused, and not for the first time either I can tell you...

    Is it Milliband or Miliband?

Is it reign in or rein in?

Is it grin and bare it or grin and bear it?

Is it toeing the line or towing the line?

These are the important questions that all the party leaders refuse to answer...

Depends which poll you believe I suppose. William Hill paid out on Miliband based on the ComRes poll and the ICM poll for the Guardian also gave it to Miliband narrowly.
