Sounds like it's straight from the horses mouth...well one end or t'other. Everyone's entitled to an opinion. You've made it clear you don't have one. But then, you do seem to have defended the name chang quite a bite, so maybe you're not being true to yourself.
I personally am against a name change, if however it was voted for by a majority of the fans I would accept it (democracy and all that) however not attend anymore. I am a Hull City fan only. When the counter argument of 'we won't make progress' is thrown back while someone is avoiding the kind of questions in the OP, it makes no sense. The club is doing fine as Hull City we have always been Hull City we have just had our best ever season as Hull City, it is up to people to prove that the name change will improve things (financially or otherwise). The silence is deafening.
there you go with personal attacks, you cant win the argument and persuade me so why not tell me that you don't like my hair? Ive defended the right to see, but everyone took the piss outta me then.
I'm not remotely interested in persuading you, or anyone else for that matter baldy. I'm interested to hear people's views on why they don't oppose the name change. There seems to be some passionately and repeatedly displaying their apathy, but that seem loath to put some meat to the reasons.
I think we should let a sucessful businessman, that pays for a team out of his own pocket, do what he likes to a name that will not effect anything (besides merchandise) one jot.
If he changes the name, many are talking of walking away, I've yet to anyone threatening that if the name remains. Do you think that's one jot affected?
There are no tangible benefits. Aside from the obvious negatives, I can give you another one Hull Tigers would re-inforce the link with the Hull Rugby clubs as it sounds like a wool egg chaser type title. From a marketing perspective I'd say that this was a negative, as the football club is part of the best league in the World and it should play on that fact, not bring in thoughts of egg chasing.
well if they are so shallow to be bothered by something as merely stupid as a name, perhaps someone can explain the difference between them and those that have jumped onboard as we are in the BPL.
So are you someone who isn't bothered about the name as long as the club is still Hull or does it not matter where we are based to you either and you will still follow the team?
You consider history, culture and tradition shallow? If they're stupid to get upset at a mere name, why do you complain when you get called one? .
A bit difficult to convince sponsors and advertisers that they don't need to worry what people think.
Over 5 hours & the only valid benefit appears to be that Hull City will never again be relegated, I think that was a joke though. Hippy, Strop, CityChav, Oily & Irembemberwilly have contributed over 30 posts between them on the "your a ****" thread in the last 5 hours but none have managed to slip by here for a sensible opportunity to state what they perceive the benefits to be of changing the name of the club. Of course, then there's Pattie banging on about not been arsed one way or the other, he would "rather not pick sides". He follows a team & "The name of them are irrelevant" What I find strange here is that for someone who wants to remain neutral he always finds time to be highly critical of those who are arsed & find the name of the team a principal element of being a football supporter. It's nice knowing that despite 330 views nobody, especially those who are vigorously opposed to people campaigning to save the clubs name, have come up with a single tangible benefit that, they believe, changing the name would create. From this I conclude that the people who argue for the change or against fighting to save our name are one or more of the following:- Trolls WUMS Idiots Frightened & intimidated by Assem's threats PLWs Thanks for your input (or lack of it). Your silence is the loudest shout we'll hear today.
errrrmmm maybe the people who you're going to ask extortionate amounts of cash to have sponsorship deals with you, and the major selling point for that is the fact that you currently play in the biggest and best FOOTBALL league on the planet, so they'd want that to be the positive association.
nono you have me wrong. I have never criticised anyone on here for being pro/against the idea. I have only ever said that I am not bothered. remember my "suckit and see" comment? I got the piss taken out of me by ALL the naysayers. even mods like OLM had a dig at me.
