Re the trust. I'll no doubt get lambasted (or even lambrettasted <laugh>) but I think a strong group should welcome constructive criticism, but this one doesn't seem to. I think a good, strong fans group could play a vital role, but my perception is that this one runs the risk of being a single issue CTWD lite.

It does come over as very much a name change only group. It also seems defensive to the point of dismissive of questions.

The set up seems back to front to me. The group set itself up on the back of the name change, and to all intent, decided what it wanted to do and then looked for people to join . Almost saying this is what it is, take it or leave it. Which is high handed if no other trust can be recognised, and the formation of alternatives would, in my view be a negative thing.

I would have thought that a group wanting to sell itself as representing fans would go out of its way to canvass fans views and demonstrate what could be achieved. So far, it seems unwilling or unable to do that.

A fans group needs to show how it is representative. Without the name change, why would anyone join it as it is? How does this group know what fans want? What does it actively do to find out?

I posted a perfectly reasonable and accurate response and you just shout LIAR? <doh>

    It's pointless bothering.

But the name is the club. The team on the field can be anyone but they represent the club which is Hull City.
If changing names was such a good idea why has only a handful done so since the early days of football when works teams or church teams came to represent the town or city they were in or areas of cities like Small Heath or Ardwick did likewise?

Hopefully my post on the other thread has addressed much of this.

That's because you are lying. The reason I took a sabbatical last time was because you deleted posts of mine for no reason and earlier today you told a young lad that he didn't know who is father was PURELY because he was posting a pro-Allam point of view.

So Yes, you are a LIAR and not bothering is your speciality.

As I've said to you before, you are not fit for purpose to be a moderator and for the same reason you are not fit for purpose to represent all Hull City fans.

Too ****ing right.... It isn't a fans group... It's a "I'm Mark Gretton and this is what you should think" group.
    **** off Gretton.

And this thread and posts like this prove that the Allams have achieved their goal.
Turning fan against fan it's disgusting and not necessary
I never thought I'd see the days like this
A complete tarnishing of a great period in our history
    Very very sad indeed !!!!

Or because no one was stupid enough to believe it would achieve anything. World wide fan bases, merchandising and sponsorship deals come about because of success not names. Don't you think the rapacious boards of clubs like Man Utd, Real Madrid etc, always looking for more money, would have gone down that route if it was thought it would gain anything? Allam hasn't done this for commercial reasons anyway but purely in a fit of pique because he didn't get his way.

Your reply on the other thread is simply a position statement doesn't really answer any of the points raised.

It's not enough to say judge us on our actions, when so far that's limited to saying what the committee would like and actions being limited to the name change.

From my own personal experience, you'd be far better not asking me to judge you on your actions.

The trust needs to show how and why it is representative, not say 'we like this, who's with us'.

I don't delete things for no reason.

The 'don't know who your dad is' thing was a joke and if anyone's big enough to offer me out on the Internet, then he should certainly be big enough to deal with a bit of a piss-take.

If you don't like on here, **** off, nobody's keeping you.

It's easy to think that HCST is only interested in name change, if you ignore all the other things that HCST has involved itself in. A two minute glance at the Trust's website will reveal a much broader palette of issues tackled - although of course if you focus on the posts of one person on one day, you might come to a different view based on limited information.

Also what I find very strange they've not posted pictures of the committee members on the Web site yet.

But that was a completely different scenario and for different reasons. Bournemouth became AFCBournemouth, Birmingham added City (how common) to their name in the 1940s, Swansea altered their name from Town to City when they were granted city status, The Wednesday became Sheffield Wednesday around 1930, and Leyton Orient messed about with their name a few times. And that is basically it since World War 1. Not one of them because their chairman thought it would be a good marketing ploy and attract interest elsewhere.

I'd rather you made your own points than try to hang them on mine.

Despite how it looks, my questions are meant to be constructive.
