I never put any words in your mouth, try reading it again..........slowly ;)

Of course skin colour shouldn't cost anyone a crack at anything, but he's provided nothing tangible to show that it did. He's merely wiped out his 8 year sabbatical by waving the race card.

Bit harsh that UIR, even Fergie's first season in management was ****e, never stopped him getting other jobs though.
So based on being ****e and not black Barnes shouldn't be prevented from another job <whistle>

I am still sure if he really wanted a job LFC would have fallen over themselves to carve out some role for him at underage level.

see tony adams realised when he tried management with zero experience that he failed and went back to be an assistant. now he went to pompey with redknapp at that then ****ed off madly to Azerbaijan some place.

now thats not great but it seems to me that if you take this route whatever color you are having a big failure on your copybook is held against you.

Has barnes ever asked lfc for a role... rob jones, mcmanaman and folwer all got a go.... fowler has apparently applied for jobs but got laughed at... is he being discriminated against... nope..

Billy Bonds (2 clubs successful at 1st made a hash towards the end and of his 2nd stint)
John Deehan - Norwich, Wigan, Aston Villa – has virtually never stopped working with a few assistant coach and DoF's under his belt
David O'Leary – Leeds, Aston Villa Al ahli - 13 years continuous employment
Les Reed – shouldn't be on the list had one 6 weeks stint at Charlton but many, many other football roles
Sammy Lee – never stopped coaching and has had 12 jobs
Alan Curbishly – Charlton, West Ham court case cut his opportunities but has had several interviews including Wolves which he didn't get
Roy Keane – Sunderland, Ipswich, assistant Ireland, assistant Aston Villa, assistant Ireland – never stopped working

    Not very good examples.

Fair enough i was talking about managerial jobs. I wish we could ask John Barnes whether he considered applying for clubs in League 2/League 1 and for coaching jobs. I would love to know if i've been unfair to him or whether i've been absolutely right on the money.

I think someone should personally E-mail/Twitter him so we can just put this whole saga behind us.

As for someone whos been sacked from a couple of jobs but doesn't have a horrendous record, does Chris Hughton count as a black manager who repeatedly gets jobs?

Hughton's CV dispells the entire myth.

Barnes doesn't have a horrendous record though!
You really think this is horrendous? : Celtic played 29 W19 D 2 L8 [ manager of the month Jan. sacked Feb] Jamaica played 11 W7 D4 L0. Tranmere I will give you. But it's the 8 year gap between Celtic and Jamaica that's under question.

If you've ever listened to any of his documentaries on race you'll know he said he applied for 6 jobs in the year after leaving Celtic - got no calls back.

Barnes's Celtic team finished 2nd and won a domestic cup, but It was Kenny that got the credit having taken charge a couple of weeks before the final.
The defeat against ICT got him the sack.

Don't think it has anything to do with race. Great player but did not make it as a manager. He is not the only one Bobby Moore and Alan Ball spring to mind as great players who could not hack it as managers. I am sure there are plenty of others.

6 job applications in a year?

That says it all, he was obviously intent on staying at the top end of the market, when his stock post Celtic was most definitely in the penny share envelope <laugh>

Oh and btw, it wasn't just his gash record at Celtic that cost him his job, he'd also lost the dressing room

    His record was rubbish.

8 losses in 29 games. They can go years and not suffer 8 losses in Scotland ffs.
