Still thinking voting for people and getting a couple up for votes early to see their reaction and if snyone comes in to defend them is best bet, especially as no Freemasons so anyone defending anyone else must know them and be on the same team

can we now hit fast forward? I'll just ask mafia to give me 3 people to kill/recruit you all vote no lynch and we'll start game again.

I can see this being very boring..... 3 days.

They get 2 kills and 1 recruit

4v7 is the best they can do without us lynching people

Their chances of getting our investigators is 3.5% edit: x2 = 7%

Their best case scenario is they recruit an investigator who already investigated the identity of the other investigator which is 1.6%

  4. there are thirteen players so it's currently 10v3. Two assassinations make it 8v3, the recruit makes it 7v4.

I think the No Lynch option only makes sense if the mafia have potentially unlimited actions, otherwise we have no time constraints

  6. Not sure how you worked that out

Thirteen players and Mafia know who they are leaving ten unknowns. With two investigators, I make that a 20% chance!

For this kind of simple open setup maybe the rules should be you must vote. Any player/s who don't submit a valid vote are coinflipped for lyching.

That's the probabilty to recruit/kill both investigators when they only have 3 chances.

But I forgot the factor of 2 because the order doesn't matter so it's 7%

Assuming we don't narrow the field with lynchings.

  9. No. It may be boring but its also necessary to get even a small idea about the other players. Skipping forward would just be like starting with less players.

Need to make sure our investigators don't investigate the same person as well?

we have 2 that can investigate don't want them wasting on the same person

I'm happy if one wants to look at me <ok>

Although saying that, they don't know who each other are so no way of actually making sure they don't...

    hehe that was hilarious.
He said he liked to live dangerously, and did everything he could to incriminate himself and it backfired horribly.

Usually once afc has accused all other players in the space of 30 minutes does it really kick off and get interesting.

So our great plan so far is to not lynch anyone until the investigators know who the mafia are? Sounds sensible, but so boring. Since the journo's can't reveal themselves until they know all three names (four if the mafia convert), it'll be at least three nights until they can say anything. Two if they say two names and let the other journo find the other. 3 mafia in 13 players means a 23% chance of randomly choosing a mafia to investigate, so you'll get a mafia around every four nights. If we assume you hit the mafia in the middle of those four nights, then that's an expected 10 to 11 nights, or another couple of weeks, until the journos reveal themselves. Thank goodness we're not doing 48 hour rounds!

And there's no reason to talk to each other, because there's nothing to gain by it.

I'd prefer the voting strategy personally, if only because it at least sounds vaguely interesting (and seems more in keeping with the spirit of the game).
