Absolutely. I think it's worth repeating that, assuming the will is there for donations, the questions are likely to be what order we do them in rather than trying to pick one over another.

I think former players is the best way to go. You never know until someone's gone that they'll remain popular. Who'd have thought Fraizer Campbell would become a villain? Or Assem Allam?

There's so many heroes from the three promotions that deserve recognition and don't get enough. There's also loads from before that obviously. I'd also really like the City of Culture one. In a few years it might be Elmo thats remembered as a hero. A year ago I'd be making that prediction about Davies though, which shows you never know for sure until they've left the club.

No critisism of those who have done what they can to help the club, BUT before we all get carried away sorting more flags the club needs to sort itself out and get the two flags they have been provided by the supporters put up properly.
This has been going on since last year and now its almost April. It was said on here that the club knew all the dimensions before the printing. So what is the problem? Lots of other clubs seem to get things sorted, why can't ours?

This was exactly what I was getting at earlier, I think the visibility of the two first banners needs to be sorted before people start paying for another one.

I think the club were learning at the same time as us. My understanding is that the club supported the idea. They wanted the same as us, with banners in the gaps and we're progressing along those lines. They seemed as incredulous as us when outside bodies raised the question of fastenings in those areas, but once raised, I can understand why they had to take it on board. That was all quite last minute, so the club and SMC looked for alternatives so the banners could get up. As compromises go, I think they did well. No, they're not ideal, but I think they've served a very good purpose very well.

Things have moved on since then, possibly as a result of our suggestions, the whole issue off displays in the ground is being looked at with a number of schemes being considered, and opened up the door for possibly better than we could hope in the future.

For the time being, I think we should look at displays we can control, such as several flags at the maximum size we can get in the ground. That gives us flexibility in the KC and at away games.

    They're not mutually inclusive.

We can look at making the others more visible, while still getting more made as fan displays rather than hung.

Delaying more while looking at what may be temporary homes for the existing would be a backward step in my view.

Another option is to make the next ones designed for the spaces we've got, and use the others to pass over the stands.

I think it's mainly the Cobb Morley one, as the Bruce one gets very good media coverage, especially given some people's view of the positional limitations.

I wonder what the cost would be to do each player as an individual flag?

What are people's thoughts if we offered individual groups the option of funding a banner each? I'm not sure if it would be okay with the commercial side of the club, but I'd guess some companies may be interested too If we could get approval?

I like that Mauled. Personally I'd put Legends in the middle and put the images around the outside to make one super legends banner. Maybe a bold font with their surname/nickname on under each name?

You SURE you're not making money out of this skill? :bandit:

I only put the 'Legend' on cos I haven't sketched anymore players yet. The idea was to do them individually but it was easier to stick them all together to put on here. And if someone wants anything doing, I might make some money!!!! haha. This is just a hobby to get me out of the way of my wife

If we could get the material I could paint them easily enough so it shouldn't be too expensive

Maybe it would be a good idea to close the original projects before beginning others. The fixings are out there, any solution requires some element of folding and unfurling and an engineers report - the one discussed as necessary to the club, not the argumentative one in the head of Dutch - should really not take this amount of time. Perhaps it is more a case that these projects are not viable and the flags are redundant as intended, so it needs to be developed from scratch. Do we have anyone at the club with any form of expertise or common-sense, as this has taken on a level of naivety that baffles? I have seen the posts that talk and show multiple banners, but I am baffled as to how on earth these will be facilitated to accommodate removal for other non-City events - perhaps we should be moving towards signs and not banners? When are we going to include the name of our club - Hull City AFC - would this be allowed - if not why do we work with them?

Fez, you seem 'hung up' on the fixing issue, which if it's even a problem at all, is a minor part of it.

My offer still stands for you to join me at the ground so you can put your thoughts to the people concerned.

The fixings were simply a part of the conversation because you introduced it in the difficulties you gave that prevented an early solution to showing the banners, just as you gave raising and lowering, folding and unfolding, and general responsibility as another obstacle to be overcome (due to them not being required at the events of FC or other sporting events - if this has changed I have not seen you indicate this). You were condescending in calling for an engineers report from me (Balkan Tiger pointed out you were '**** stirring', he was right, IMO), but on the other hand you asked for advice which you then use in argument. There are not too many ways to break your circular thinking and argumentative style. I think it is clear, as I have already said, that the banners need an identified home and fixing before they are created - this was the mistake with the current one - but I have never criticised that - so their size/materials are appropriate to their final site. Whatever other obstacles there are you might (be able to) share or not, but it does make balanced discussion difficult if you do not.

Despite this being emphasised by me in more than one post you still refuse to accept it as my core rationale for not supporting any further banners for the immediate future. You have constantly responded to this simple question by insisting that the club (the people you talk to??) say there is no such problem and you keep making this argumentative invitation for me to attend and ask them myself, even though I have made it very clear I will not and have given my reasons for that. Let me say it again, I do not trust the paid representatives of the club to give straight and honest answers to the question, they (as do their employers) have no track record in allowing such a thing (as others, on here, have pointed out) and are still actively working to eradicate the name Hull City AFC are every opportunity they can find, so it astounds me that you believe they will now allow it on banners that will inevitably gain some quite serious publicity. Whether they say it now or not, these employees must eventually defer to the wishes of their employer and I have seen absolutely nothing to indicate that the position of the Allam's has changed - Buckingham certainly has not.

There is no purpose for me to attend your meeting, the essence of my thoughts have been presented to the club at far more significant levels and through more robust means than I can create, so your offer is pointless and you should save your time, as I have said before.

I will leave it there and will not get involved in the second thread you have created, as I would not wish to derail it; I believe any further banners that do not include our name (the one many of us are off the fence and fighting for) are too easily construed as being supportive of the name-change principal Allam is imposing and until he drops his campaign, and his background rebranding, I will keep a distance, as I believe it is a mistake, it's as simple as that.
