Former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss Van Gaal was appointed United manager last summer, and United currently sit five points clear of Liverpool in fifth place.
Some supporters had complained about a lack of tempo, flair and width from Van Gaal's side but a recent spike in performance has seen those complaints subside.
However, Stoichkov, who played under Van Gaal at Barcelona, blames the Ducthman for his exit from the Camp Nou.
"I have no respect for him, he's scum," Stoichkov told L'Equipe.
“One day, when I was injured, I was with my wife at Camp Nou and Van Gaal went up to her.

    OUR VIEW
These quotes should be taken for what they are: an unsubstantiated attack - the quotes around which he bases his critique of Van Gaal on are vague in the extreme - rather than any sort of considered appraisal of Van Gaal’s body of work at United. Stoichkov quite clearly has a gripe with Van Gaal and while that gripe may have some founding he has turned this into a personal attack. Were he to refer to Van Gaal as being unprofessional in his treatment towards him at Barcelona then the criticism would have a more substantial airhttps://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news...chkov-louis-van-gaal-scum-100302302--sow.html to it. As it stands, it is easy to dismiss.

That last bit says it all. An unsubstantiated attack.

"He asked her how it was possible that she married someone like me. She responded that I was a Ballon d'Or winner".

Sounds like Stoichkov's problem is with his own wife, if she only married him for his Golden Ball...

in fairness now i have to say we have a classic situation where stoichkov gives it with both barrells to van gaal and immediately what do we have?

a eurosport article which is prob written by a utd fan given seemingly utter dismissal of the bulgarian and the when dribs posts it the first two on are utd fans as well.

hmmmmmmmmmmm.. me think the mancs doth protest too much

Hmmmmmmm...me thinks you're being paranoid. I was posting on every thread on here yesterday <laugh> But hey, it's nice you scousers are entertained somehow.

The irony is the 2 mancs who've posted on here have posted much worse about Van Gaal.

It's obvious from all his previous sackings and his interactions with the media that he is scum

It's lost in translation anyway. Stoichkov actually called him a thoroughly nice fella...either that or a complete ****, it all depends on a missing umlaut <whistle>

indeed the part about crying leaving barca and it was van gaals fault was simply down to how much he loved the guy and would miss him... insert sarcastic smiley here.

we all know stocihkov was a bloody hard to ge ton with kind of guy who loved himself though... its not like we don't see that he was nearly the balotelli of his day... he was a bloody ego... so.... well ll it says is one ego clashed with another ego. pity for mancs the list of guys falling out with him is long and not all of those went downhill after.. many had more success when he left.

I think the word 'scum' should be left for those befitting of the accolade[?] Once you've used it for a football manager who didn't get on with a player, where do you go from there?

This from the same guy who said "calling opponents "black ****s" was all part of the game".

The same guy that stood stationary in midfield during international matches with his hands on his hips because he was displeased by the performance of his team mates

Man you talk some ****e. You should send your CV into the daily mail, they'd at least have a bit of craic reading the single paragraph quad spaced over 4 pages though you'd be a dead cert if you fill out the CV with the links to your posts on here

From the lad who said and I quote. "Guardiola wasn't really that good a manager he just arrived when La Liga was **** and Barca were on the verge of greatness before he arrived"
Or "messi will be just some player in a few years"
"Kagawa is top class and can\will be world class"
On Peps barca "They are horrible to watch"
"barca's Success is 100% down to the players" "Pep came in along at the right time to just sit and watch the wins" followed by "anyone could have done it"

<laugh> I have to stop before I wet myself <laugh>

    One more
UIR on Pep Guardiola " He will fail in his next job because every job on earth is tougher that the job hes leaving. Also having him means we dont get Mourinho and Mourinho is 10 times the manager."
UIR you really REALLY wanted Jose after all
    <laugh>

All the proof you need to know that UIR's mouth is directly connected to his arse.
