    My God that team looks dreadful in hindsight.. But it wasn't thought as a bad team at the time...

    Viduka, Smith, Geremi, N'Zgobia(playing LB it seems) Butt, Rozehnal wouldn't make our team now.

    Given v Harper - Sorry Harps but Given was always a bit better.
    Carr v Simpson - Simpson, younger and better.
    N'Zogbia at LB v Enrique
    Rozenhal v Coloccini
    Taylor v Taylor - has improved since.
    Butt v Tiote - <laugh>
    Geremi v Cabaye - Cabaye, even before I've seen him this we can be sure about.
    Solano v Barton - very interesting, Solano at the time wasnt at his best though so maybe Barton shades it.
    Milner v Jonas
    Smith v Ben Arfa - again, <laugh>
    Viduka v Ba

    Given- No, Harper
    Carr- YES! Simmo
    N'Zogbia- As LB? yes, Jose! Better winger than Barton and Jonas though
    Rozehnal- YES! Captain shagger!
    Taylor- Same
    Butt-Geremi-Solano-Smith- YES! Tiote, Barton, Cabaye/Marveaux, Jonas are much better, not so much Solano mind
    Viduka- Same, our strikers are still poor but Ba could be good if he stays injury free
    Milner- Same, HBA maybe?

    The only players better are Given, Milner and Solano (as an out and out right midfielder).

    Simpson, Colo, Enrique, Tiote, Cabaye, Jonas, Ben Arfa etc are all an improvement. Add a couple more signings and we're good to go.

    The team that played against Juventus in the same pre season was even worse than that!

    Rozehnal
    Ramage
    Huntington
    Solano
    Geremi
    N'Zogbia
    Milner
    Luque
    Martins

    Carroll, Edgar, Dyer, Troisi, Pattison, Barnett and Lough came on as subs.

    He scored a header from a free kick if I remember correctly. It was as good as it got.
