Not a great day yesterday with Horizontal falling and Argot getting done by what seems to be one of Kings better horses? On to tomorrow:

    • 200 Exeter- Rocky Rebel

Blakes last 3 runners have finished 1,1,5 over the last 14 days and he has Scudamore booked in a race where the Murty's Delight is fav and i cant be having him as has failed to win a few times this season.

    • 445 Exeter- Celestino

Recently ran 10 days ago and went well for along way from 5lbs out of the handicap. Nicholls runs Celestino 10 days later, take the hint

    • 210 Huntingdon- Southfield Royale NAP

Went well for along way until not staying thr trip last time out, Mullhollands in great form and AP booked. Anything above evens is a steal

    • 350 Huntingdon- A Little Bit Dusty

Prolific winner under both codes and three solid efforts on good and slower ground since returned to hurdling, most recently when 5l third in Sedgefield handicap (2m1f); still 8lb higher than for his last win in this sphere but has Tony McCoy booked and should go well again; yard also runs Gud Day.

These 4 pay a whooping 124/1 and i will be backing them E/W and a win treble without Rocky Rebel paying 16/1. Good Luck if you play :)

Having a little dabble on BUCKBORU 20-1 Exeter 4:10 tomorrow. The yard are really clever at getting outsiders home in handicap hurdles and this one looked like it was getting the hang of things a little better last time out. Off a revised mark I can them going close. Small stakes ew.

Morning, troops. How are we??? Good, good.

I went ‘cor bloomin’, bally, blinkin’ blimey’ when I looked at the runners earlier on as I see that one of my all time favourite racehorses of all time is out today making his hunter chase debut. I do, of course, refer to the legendary TATANIANO, in the ‘lucky last’ at Exeter (5.15). A Grade1 and Grade 2 winner in his novice chasing days he was awesome that term but sadly injury preventing him ever scaling the heights. I still maintain though that that his win at Aintree in ’10 was one of the most breathtaking performances that I have ever seen.

I know nothing of Tataniano’s new connections but will say that if he retains a modicum of his former ability he should hose up this afternoon. Another former Mr Nicholls inmate, Aerial, is a worthy foe but he did have a very hard race less than 3 weeks ago at Cheltenham. In summery 7/1 looks a very fair price re my old fave getting back in the old winner’s enclosure.

Meanwhile, please note pilgrims that the Mr Henderson who rides horse number 11 in that heat isn’t our Mr Henderson.

    Good luck all.

    LARTETA 4.20 HUNTINGDON

Larteta was beaten 6ls by Mister Wiseman in a better race last time, not hard I know, and off the same mark with the same weight he meets much weaker opposition. Larteta has a piece of form on his CV that at the time looked nothing special but now three months later, it shows he had an impossible task. On Boxing Day he run over this course and distance and was beaten 11ls by Steel Summit. Larteta was favourite for the race. Steel Summit went on to win three hurdle races. In second, 9ls behind the winner and only 2ls in front of Larteta was Donapollo who has since won off the same mark. In fourth just 0.75ls in front of Larteta was Diamond Tammy who has since won three, the latest off 16lbs higher. Expanding Universe was in sixth, won off 2lbs lower and Whiskey Chaser was last and he was impressive when beating Vasco Dycy at Carlisle. Sarah Humphrey has only sent seven horses to compete in handicap chases at Huntingdon over the last three seasons and two have won.

Mondo Cane won a hurdle race last time after leaving money in the satchels on his previous run when he was second to Auldthunder at Sedgefield where he came cruising and led at the last but he threw it away on the run in. He is 4lbs higher today though has 4lbs less physical weight to carry. This isn’t as tough as the Sedgefield race and he has a favourites chance, but at odds on, no thanks.

Bob Will hasn’t progressed since leaving Chris Grant and unluckily ended up on the floor last time. It is nearly 30 months since he won a race off 75 and he has a couple of placed efforts off this mark. He is a couple of pounds wrong and comes from a yard that is 1-77 in the last 12 months. He is 0-8, never placed, on flat tracks and 0-15 going right handed.

Roparta Avenue is yet to place in any race under rules. He has been off a year, no idea why, but Diana Grissell’s record in the last eight years with horses returning after a year or more off reads 0-20 with just one placing.

Flichity is 12lbs wrong here and even with Joe Cornwall’s claim he is still 7lbs out of the weights. He followed Ainsi Fideles round Fakenham last time in his own time to pick up second place prize money. He actually won a chase off a mark of 74 in June last year but since then his form has been woeful. He is 0-23 on good to soft or slower and has never placed in five races at Huntingdon.

Conclusion: Five runners but it only concerns two. Mondo Cane will be popular as he has run well in blinkers the last twice. On a line through Pistol Basc he has the beating of Larteta. However, he is by Beneficial and his sire’s offspring have an awful record in handicap chases at Huntingdon, 4-48. Mondo Cane could easily win but at his odds he is worth taking on. Larteta would usually be opposable. He has a third to Chestnut Ben off 112 at this track and he won his hurdle race off 112. He is 12lbs lower today and this represents his easiest opportunity to date

Definately one the bookies won't want to be laying each way looking at the race. I can't see it out of the first 3 on the form book

My only 1 today is Benenden in the 3.05 Exeter. Always going to be a chaser, if you look at his last Hurdle run in a maiden at Ascot the 5 in front of him that day have all won since and the form looks pretty useful considering he runs here off 113.

Like the look of three at Southwell today
2:20 MISHRIF won off the same Mark last week at Chelmsford, drifted to a nice ew price can't see him finishing outside the frame as long as he sees out today's longer trip.
3:20 ALPHA TAURI Conditions to suit, don't like the first few in the market so will take a chance on this 9/1 shot. Expect to see a better run than than his last outing.
4:30 PUTIN this lads been about a while, struggled lately at Chelmsford in stronger company, like the fact he's back at Southwell in a class 6, 6/1 seems a decent price

305 Exeter Benenden should go well on a very cosy mark ,that's if he keeps his jockey.
315 huntingdon going to chance Mrs peachy who also looks on a nice mark.
325 southwell spowarticus could take all the glory if he can make a run for the front , if he does I can't see them catching up
