    I know that Hull City took part in the first match to be decided on penalties in the Watney Cup against Manchester United (1970).

    I have also read about an old City player called Arthur Childs: he had two 'firsts' against his name:
    1) he was the first and only player ever to be sent off for wearing inappropriate footwear (1928);
    2) he was the first player ever to be sent off in a FA cup semi final - against Arsenal in 1930

    I am sure we must have been involved in other firsts. Anyone know?

    I think Arsenal did that a couple of seasons ago.

    I seem to think Ray Henderson was the first substitute to come on and score a goal?

    I was under that impression for a long time but wiki says differently:

    On 21 August 1965,
    Keith Peacock of Charlton Athletic became the first substitute used in the Football League when he replaced injured goalkeeper Mike Rose eleven minutes into their away match against Bolton Wanderers. On the same day, Bobby Knox became the first ever substitute to score a goal when he scored for Barrow against Wrexham.

    Hull City must be the first team to have their own owner (bullyboy) call his own fans hooligans and say they can die when they want to.

    What about the first team to have it's own railway platform.

    Or the first team to have their goalie receive oranges when he came into the goal area at the start.

    The first team to bring their nickname into their Official name.

    What about the first team along with Blackburn to have a match abandoned when paying by decimal money.
    Was it February 15, 1971.
    Could be slightly wrong on the date though
