Part of the reason will be racism in a way. A few years back the likes of Barnes and Ince were rushed into high profile positions by people working for the equality commissions of different football authorities. They all proved to be **** and that's hampered the progress of everyone else in that generation, because if you're going to fast track people you should be selecting the best of them. Having done that people will assume that a random black coach/manager that was around at the time you attempted it wasn't as good as them, and as they were **** this random manager must be as well.
