That's a different tune to all the "Ronaldo back to his rightful place as best of his generation". Even if Messi retires tomorrow he is still the best player of his generation, and arguably best player ever to play the game

Bobby can do it on a cold night in Stoke:)

Ronaldo a great player but my **** is the guy an arrogant twat, just recently, in a game he ran in on the keeper and it was saved but the ball deflected to Bale who scored, did ROnaldo celebrate with him, no, he waved an arm in Bale's direction to indicate it should have been his goal he made it all bale did was tap it in.

Looks like Bale is not happy tho.. reckon you'd get him in the summer, think he wants out, Real fans attacking his car n ****. Get a bid in before Arsenal do :D

That is your opinion, though it isn't the opinion of most. I think you'll find Ronaldo has the more fans in the whole Messi v Ronaldo debate.

That's not arrogant, that would be selfish if that's what actually happened. Though it clearly wasn't as he was joking around with Bale. The papers just jump on the smallest thing for a story when it really was a nothing incident. And then people like yourself believe everything you read.

We could well get Bale, and I don't think we'd have much competition, as others won't have the financial clout to get him. I wonder if Di Maria could go back the other way in the deal. He's not exactly settled here, whilst Madrid weren't entirely happy to sell, they just knew 60 million was to big to reject

He's an arrogant power tripping lunatic mate, even his model ex said he made her feel ugly. His ego wouldn't fit on the internet it's that big ROFL
Now there is something else he could learn from Messi, some humility <whistle> Ronaldo's biggest fan is Ronaldo

His model ex-girlfriend! <laugh> FFS Sisu I thought you were more sensible. So the word of some bitter, pissed off ex-girlfriend (a model so very likely braindead and shallow with it) is who's word you're going to go on???

Mate you'd think I was a complete c*nt if you listened to my ex's... whereas everyone knows I'm a paragon of wholesome virtue!

C'mon, Ronaldo is a complete prick, like most footballers.
    Sisu is 100% spot on.
Regardless of whoever achieves what, I will always favour Messi, because he comes across as a likeable guy, where as Ronaldo comes off as a greasy, pimply, obnoxious, self involved **** stain.

Ah, but remember that the First Law of Sisu states that a footballer's public personality and all their actions are the complete inverse of their action personality.

Exhibit 1: Saint Luiz, nicest man ever to play the game who only bites, racially abuses and stamps on people so no one takes advantage of his kind and generous nature
Exhibit 2: Bad Ryan, never bitten, racially abused or stamped on a fellow professional, ergo clearly the most evil man in the world who is hiding his villainous nature behind a facade

On that basis, Ronaldo only comes off like a total utter prick so people don't realise how wonderful and loving fellow he actually in in real life. And Messi is the next Jorge Videla.

I agree with you too, like I said, most top footballers are complete a-holes.
Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs, John Terry, Luis Suarez, Ashley Cole.

Between this lot we have Serial cheats, racially abusives. potty mouthed, violent minded, over indulged ingrates.
Even if I dont believe the whole JT racist remark thing, he still sold tours around SB on the snide as a side gig, plus, although I am not necessarily one to claim guilt by association, his family are scum bags.
Wayne Rooney cheats on his wife in brothels with OAP's and swears into cameras with millions of children watching on a Saturday afternoon!!
Giggs banging his brothers wife (by far, imo, the worst offence of all these guys).
Suarez.....need I speak about him, racist remarks, biting people, dirty play
Ashley Cole.....serially cheated on his wife (who is stunningly hot I might add), with the most plain women imaginable. That Amy the hairdresser chick he slept with and sent pics of his wang too.....meh! Plus the whole "I nearly crashed my car in anger when Arsenal offered me 50k per week".

I just remember one thing though, that alot on here seem to forget.....
I couldnt give two ****s who bangs who, who takes what drug, who said what to whom.....
I like watching football, and if people cannot separate what these guys do on the field with that they do off it, then I suggest you go watch a knitting tournament or some ****, because people are people, and especially young rich people, are assholes.

I will always favour Ronaldo bcos he has nicer hair and doesn't dress like a rentboy at the Ballon D'or. I like his dimples too and the fact he could say "the lads" in his post-match interviews which I'm pretty sure Messi can't.

BTW I always thought Drogba came across as a complete prick... until I actually heard about what the guy does off the pitch and the way he comes across when he speaks. Ronaldo is the pantomime villain but that's all it is - ppl love to hate him and he is happy to play to that. When you look how he's conducted himself in several difficult situations, the reality is quite different to the perception.

hehe see Drogba is the reverse.
Dives on the pitch which earns him rival fans ire.
But off the pitch the guy has literally saved thousands of lives, built numerous hospitals and AIDS clinics in Africa and even ended a Civil War!
He is a saint by footballers standards.

<ok> yep. And actually when you hear him talk about a match he's pretty switched on and sensible. Whereas Henry is so far up his own tight ar5e, if he had a shovel and pick he would discover diamonds!

Aye, but then you're judging him on unfair criteria.

I reckon if there was a civil war in Portugal, Ronaldo would have had a fair bash at stopping it. The arrogant prick would probably have ended up starting WWIII in the process, but at least he'd have tried!

Tho' in all seriousness I'm pretty sure Ronaldo has donated or fundraised several million for charity, including AIDs and cancer charities, and helped rebuild part of Indonesia after the tsunami. So he has done a lot, most of which is unreported in the general Ronaldo love/hate fest.

Pretty sure he cut a zig-zag in his hair once in tribute to a boy who was left with a similar scar after Ronaldo funded his life saving operation. All the media reported was that Ronaldo had a poncy new hairstyle...

His father's death. And when he discovered he had a son. The way he handled both situations. Even the way he handled leaving United from as early as 2006 imo shows he is a pretty sound bloke.

    You are right again.

We all judge these footballers activites on the bullshit reported in the paper.
In the same breathe we refer to the same papers as rags and untruthful, all the while believing whatever we want to believe and shrugging off what we dont as lies.

Me personally......If I wanted to gossip about cheating, drug taking, wife beating etc, I'd watch Eastenders or Jeremy Kyle.

Partly the media, but partly also the public image they create through themselves for branding etc. Ronaldo in particular makes millions of his image as a preening, confident, self obsessed bastard. It's the old marketing adage - make them either love you or hate you, but never let them be indifferent to you.

To me it says a lot about our society and the media when a bloke can fly a full plane into a mountain and the reporting focuses on what could cause such a normal man to do such a thing. Then one footballer bites / spits at / kicks another and is turned into the most evil man since Hitler.

Its the faux outrage that narks me to be honest.
Some rich guy I don't know and have never met, bit another rich guy I don't know and have never met and all across the country people are up in arms.
Really everyone is delighted because it gives them a stick with which to beat Suarez and Liverpool with.
Same with John Terry and the Wayne Bridge affair (which actually turned out to have all been made up by the woman), who gives a **** if John Terry cheats on his wife?
Ryan Giggs, ditto! That had the extra caveat of it being his brothers wife he was doing, which on a personal level is one of the lowest things you can do to be honest, but again, I wasn't outraged because I don't know the Giggs family and couldn't give a **** who Ryan sticks his tool into.
The Rooney thing was more funny that anything else.
Its when people go mental and take everything over the top, its all just used to try one-up each other and increase the size of posters' E-Peen on a message board, which is sadder than anything these footballers do imo.
