The reason that we get beat in the big competitions is flawed, as the others don't even qualify. The rest is your opinion though. Though most here in England realise we are ****e against the top sides. We don't go into WCs expecting to win them anymore
They're all ****e. England are the international equivalent of Newcastle. So-called "big" team who haven't won **** all in decades. Scotland are the equivalent of Watford. Qualifying for a major tournament (or the EPL as is the case with ****ford) is seen as the pinnacle of success. Wales and Northern Ireland produce good quality players but for every one they produce they're surrounded by 10 ****e ones. Rep. of Ireland? Mostly made up of England rejects.
Doesn't really matter who's where in the pecking order. let's face it - with the possible exception of Gareth Bale I don't think there's one player in any of the 5 squads that would get into the German, Spanish or even French teams.
England are more like Celtic - landed the big one nearly 50 years ago, not done a lot on the interntional scene since, and some of their fans keep banging on about it.
Harold 'The Second Coming' Kane Wayne 'The White Pele' Rooney Joe ' Hadrian's Wall' Hart John 'Lionheart' Terry Steven 'YNWA JFT96' Gerrard Leighton 'The Fifth Beatle' Baines Daniel 'Poppin' Off' Sturridge Troy 'Da Watford Bad Boi' Deeney Just some of the outstanding World Class players from the home nations who would get in to the Spanish, German or French teams. Do some research, eh?
Gareth Bale Oxlaide-Chamberlain Theo Walcott All are are or have the potential to become world class players who could walk into most teams anywhere in the world. Might have to stop Wenger injuring the last two though. Anyway, what do they all have in common? (along with Luke Shaw, Calum Chambers, James Ward- Prowse, Harrison Reed, Matthew Targett etc etc).
Striker is the weakest area of both Germany and Spain's team. Even Torres was getting on off the bench for Spain in the WC, and Rooneys a lot better than him. The Germans where forced to play a 36 year old up top in the WC who has now retired, which tells you everything you need to know about the rest. Podolski and Gomez??? Benzema at France is pretty evenly matched with Rooney, though id give the slight edge to Rooney as he's a technically more skilled footballer. If you had both though you'd probably play them both up there as a partnership
England - Comfortably better than the rest although the gap isn't as big as it used to be. A better manager than Sven could've won them the Euros/WC but they've regressed a lot in recent years with no sign of another 'golden generation' coming through. Morris dancing ****s. Scotland - Much improved under Strachan, good players and good spirit. Defence woeful but thankfully have loads of good goalies. Would be great if we could just play them all and not bother about playing a defence. Tight fisted skirt wearers. Ireland - Fairly average. Best players are over the hill and they don't really have much in reserve. Tattie munchers. Wales - They are improving and have a genuine world class player in their side but still a long way to go. Not even a real country and their language is a farce. Northern Ireland - ****e bigots.
