Why the **** did we sit back and try to hold out for a win only 25 minutes in? With the wind with us against a top side?

We sat back and gave too much time giving away two needless preventable goals.

Anyway I was impressed by the way we played after Elliot came on and I think we got the wake up call we need before we play Swindon and Preston. Start Elliot next game and possibly JET

Agard was Agard, ran and ran but he is fu88ing utterly useless.
I need to check Fielding's part in their 2nd goal as well.

We got 'better when Elliott came on' - NOT because of anything he did.
We got better because Agard was subbed.

Very disappointed in the Swindon type antics of Barnsley.

Thought we were lucky to get a point really, although there was only one team in it at 2-2. Ellliott coming on did change the shape and I agree, I cant see why we thought we had the game won at 1-0.

Barnsley not very professional with some of their antics, but a side that I would expect to see in the play offs

Agard ran his heart out but he is not the type for winning high balls and his first touch is below standard, I can see potential in him though

And that's why he (Agard) will be of no use in the Championship. I hope Cotts already has targets pencilled in to play up front for us next season.

The owner has said (possibly in private) that he wants and expects Premiership football at Ashton Gate within 5 years. Wouldn't that be something for Higgs to gnash his teeth on, especially if they now **** up their promotion bid !

I have said it all season Agard seldom creates anything and he skill level is way below Jet's. While Jet will always be an enigma, the argument demonstrates the need for two fast and skilful front men next season. I sense we are limping over the line. Still we must enjoy this season while we can

'I need to check Fielding's part in their 2nd goal as well'

Thought as much, he went in like a full back, not a keeper.

Not the first time this season, he 'goes in' with self preservation in mind.
Sorry, he's no more keeper than fly.

We came back to claim a point which is something we didn't have in our bag of tricks for a few seasons and so we should be grateful against an in form team.

Hot off the press - Fleetwood 1 Preston 1. No damage done and we keep PNE at the same distance and the games are now starting to wind down to the almost inevitable.

Yes good result but Preston looked a lot more desirous of trying to win the game than we did yesterday and should really have won. Preston now have 3 games out of 4 at home where they seem confident at winning. I reckon we need 9 more points to be champs. Also if Swindon draw against MK Dons and we beat them we are up (according to my forecasts).

Lucky he didn't go charging in and get sent off then, with the loan window shut and a rookie goalie at this time of the season could be damaging to the run in.

    Oh RODney. You silly billy.
A keeper going in like a FB is much more likely to take him out.
    Fielding's technique is all wrong.

Anyone got a feeling Rp doesn't like Fielding, is it because he's not up to the size he like's (he has a thing about small players) well i must say for a team to only concede 34 league goals, surely the goalkeeper has to take some of the credit, unless of course you have a fixation about the size of an individual, and that's suppose to make him a bad player, so come on Rp give the bloke a bit of credit, SC rates him, so that's good enough for me, by the way we went to a diamond formation(according to the manager) after the substitutions yesterday not 4-4-2, and there's me thinking you new everything about football, silly me.

I know we played Jet at the top of the 'Diamond', Cotterill told us that post match.

But a 'Diamond' is 4 in midfield.
When explaining finer points to RODney you have to keep it simple, hence why I said 4-4-2.

I'll try in future to say 1 thing to RODney and another way to your goodself.
Don't beat yourself up, you're not so silly after all.

Agard's pace and movement with JETs skill is world class if they were combined in a player

I certainly don't think small players are bad, Messi,Xavi and the like.
If you are referring to Junior then size, pace, strength would have helped a lesser mortal, but tbf he has a 'footballing brain'.

As for Fielding I think size is of much more importance for keepers.
It's not just his size, he's not good at crosses and with 1 on 1's he's very much into self preservation.
That's a usual trait for outfield players but keepers are supposedly half mad and are not afraid to go where it hurts.
Do you not agree his challenge for their 2nd goal was 'unnatural' for a keeper ? - What's he got arms for.
You say SC rates him, he may well do and he doesn't get much wrong.
However Cotterill is hardly going to say something now that will dent Fielding's confidence.

How much SC rates him will become clear in August.

We all make mistakes RP, you have made many on here!

Interestingly what height do you think Fielding is?
