No game for us today over the Bridge with another infernal international break, so just for a bit of fun I've put a fiver on a draw/Barnsley double chance result at 13/10. A straight Barnsley win was 5/1 but I chickened out on that one as you're 8/13 to win it. Looking in mainly because we've loaned left back Declan John to Barnsley for the rest of the season. Any chance I'll get some dosh back on this one guys? EDIT - I've just altered your odds above. I made a mistake - it was 13/8 ON you were on, not against.
Hopefully not I'd say a chance of a draw is pretty high at about 20% but we're likely to win it 70% I think
Looks like it was. Only a guess for a bit of fun banksy, but I'll take the £6.50 profit ta very much. Look forward to talking more with you next season in the Champ again.
Sparky, nice to see ya, if we go up I'll look forward to having a laugh with you and your reprobates..
You keep your horn to yourself AN16 - I've heard about you rock stars!!........ Apparently some tough games coming up for you over the run in but you've such a good cushion you'll be up here next season no probs. Hopefully the hangover from our excursion into the stratosphere last season will have cleared and we can give you a good couple of games. You'll have the momentum from coming up like Brentford and Wolves up here this season, and Bournemouth from the previous season. What will we have?........................probably Slade again.
Lol !!! It could be worse you could still have the racist Mackay and be heading to where he's taking WIgan. Best place for them too. A Rugby town with no affinity to football aside from buying some success.
both ways mean the same stated as 13 to 8 on means just that 13 to win 8 other way 8/13 ( think 3/1 for a pound you get £ back for your 1) so 8 back for your 13 YOU GOT DONE AT 13/10 FOR THE DRAW MOST BOOKIES HAD 3/1, LOWEST WAS 5/2
JGF2 - please don't lecture me on odds - my surname is Ladbroke.......... In my OP I originally posted you were 13/8 for the win whereas I'd misread the odds on my B365 account - they actually had you down for 8/13 (viz 13/8 on as I edited). I wasn't "DONE" at all for the 13/10 odds for the draw. If you read my OP correctly, it was a double chance bet which covered the draw and a Barnsley win - hence the reduced return. The only way I could lose was if you'd won - which you didn't. If you want a small flutter without going Gung Ho for the big odds or risking more money at small odds on the "certainties", the double chance bet is a good option. Just for interest, I did exactly the same for the Fleetwood/Preston game yesterday going for the underdog and a draw combo - whad'yaknow, I won again.
Just a quick observation on your comment AN16 - only just read it after dealing with JGF2's lecture. Yep, looks like you and Wigan will be passing each other on the way up/down. Mackay remains something of an enigma over here and evokes some very opposing views. Mackay rode the wave of popularity very well for our promotion season, but the flaws were there even then. If we leave aside the off-pitch stuff which certainly didn't help, he was very limited tactically and was almost as bad as Slade appears to be now. Whelan (who I've never liked) made two big mistakes. Sacking Uwe Rosler prematurely when they weren't even in the bottom 3 was one, and then taking on Mackay to replace him was the second. Mackay only managed a pathetic 5 points from a possible 36 in his first dozen games there and put them firmly down there in Blackpool's company. Since then, only the demise of Holloway's Millwall has given them any hope of survival. Both Rotherham and Fulham just above them are far better sides and should see it out. Blackpool, Millwall and Wigan for the drop.
Haha you're going to upset JGF and he's going to blind you with stats, they will mean **** all. But your head will feel more mangled than when you first tried Drink/ Drugs (delete the non applicable statement)
Hello Sparkey It definitely wasn't a mistake sacking Rosler, just like Coyle, he bought in terrible players, tactics, team selections were all negative, Wigan had a squad capable of top 6 just like where they finished in his first season and he was getting Wigan relegated ( they'll probably end up going down this season anyway). I don't know what went through Whelans head appointing Coyle, everyone knows he's not a very good manager, nobody even wanted him in the first place . Quite a lot of Wigan fans would be quite happy to see the back of Mackay now anyway, he's doing worse than the previous two in charge
I'm sorry ROD but I'd rather have a giggle at jgf2's stats than some of the bunkum Sparky farts out about the Welsh franchise..
