You're right, I still remember the ride he gave him in the Nunthorpe last August when the gaps appeared just in time, most punters who backed him, their hearts were probably beating at 200 beats a minute!
Nice across the card double for Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa al Maktoum: Naadirr at Doncaster following from Mubtaahij at Meydan. I doubt he had a bet... Watched the Sole Power win in the bookies. I think they lost on that race as all the punters were cheering him on and could not believe that they had got 7/1. Blessed ignorance pays well sometimes.
His form out there was my doing but all in all I'm glad he won. What an incredible horse he has been over the last few seasons.
Well done with Solow- won easily. Harp Star was terrible today- doesn't look the same horse after some niggling issues.
Next time I back Flintshire it will be place only! Second again! Have to say that I do not think that Maxime Guyon rode a very good race. There was always going to be a slow pace, he allowed Dolniya to come out off the rail and get to the front and gave the filly too much of a lead when he knows that Flintshire does not have a devastating turn of foot. (Yes, I am grumbling through my wallet!) I saw Solow when he won the Prix Daniel Wildenstein at last year’s Arc meeting and clearly Freddie Head’s gelding is much improved since that Group 2 race. I thought that The Grey Gatsby ran a disappointing race, never placed to put down a decent challenge. Hands up anybody that actually gave Prince Bishop any chance at all as the Godolphin second-string in the Dubai World Cup...
Wow, that was a surprise. Old Prince Bishop and William Buick showing the Yanks how to do it at their own game. Fine ride from Buick.
Had 2 bets today and 2 seconds (Grey Gatsby & California Chrome) ditched 2 of my favourite flat horses of last year (brown panther & sole power) and both won and both were better prices Oh **** happens live to fight another day
