    15:35 Stratford - Sweeping Rock e/w

(Am actually tipping one Bob! <laugh>. Had a bit at 9/1 on this e/w with Willie Hills. Bit of a tight race but on prevailing good ground must have a squeak?).

Sorry, Bob, my piece was obviously too cryptic for you:

Meydan 15:40 – The Grey Gatsby
Will risk him first time up on fast ground because he is at least ten pounds better than anything in the race.

    Meydan 16:15 – Flintshire
    Dolniya
beat him in their warm-up race at Chantilly but we know Fabre does not over do his horses before the main event.

    Meydan 17:00 – California Chrome
Great form on fast dirt at this trip, valid excuses for poor form at end of last season.

That's more like it QM. A serious case of fence sitting in the first one!

    Who is riding him BTW?

Might sound silly but can Martin get his mark down to a handicap sort of level? I'd love him to win grade 1's but he is 10 now and I can't see it.

Highlight of today's racing so far for me - Brown Panther winning in Dubai.

Felix Yonger is too stretched at this trip and his best work has been 16-18f in my opinion, can see Flemenstar winning quite comfrtably aslong as he retains 70-80% of ability.

When I was looking at the form yesterday, the turf going was reported as “good to firm” and I was expecting it to get quicker with the heat; however, it is now reported as “good” so I guess they have watered it.

I think I am right in saying that the US horses cannot use ‘medication’ in the UAE so that has to be factored in.

Great performance by Mike de Kock’s Mubtaahij in the UAE Derby, although he was helped considerably by the two Japanese horses cutting each other’s throats setting too hot a pace. I wonder if this Dubawi colt is any good on turf – he might bring it over here.

Can't believe I didn't back Sole Power, in hindsight it was a Group horse against an average field of handicappers! Hughesie and him get on so well.

Stole a March on the price there for sure and did it pretty easily albeit he looks a big lazy type who will come on when jumping the big sticks.
