Stoke City have agreed a deal worth up to £6m with West Ham United for Carlton Cole.

£4.5m up front gives the Hammers a war-chest......

Gosh! That's about the same deal that Lester have just signed for Matt Mills.

    Puts things into perspective!

    Idiots!

Pulis is a fantastic manager, but his record of signing forwards is awful. When they first got promoted, they signed Kitson for £5.5m. He went on to score 5 goals in 2 seasons <doh>

Other calamaties include Tuncay, Gudjohnsen and Carew

Carlton Cole is fantastic on his day, but the fact that he couldn't make the West Ham team for much of last season speaks volumes about his current form.

Exactly. And to think he's recently played for England!

This one could well be another Stoke striker calamity <whistle>

So they've finally got their man. All it's taken is 3 transfer windows and West Ham's relegation!

The weakening at West Ham continues. Rob Green and Scott Parker will be next. Apart from Nolan what have they got that improves there situation ? I see West Ham as nothing more than a Burnley(team wise) for now.?

West Ham are still the ones to watch, their squad is in a different class to Leicester's and will remain so after Green and Parker have departed, though there's a limit to how long that will remain the case, if they lose a few more on top they'll obviously start to look weaker.

I guess it depends on how much their owners want to risk financial soundness for an immediate return. They will need £25m in sales to cover lost revenue from Sky.

Considering they had an 8-figure debt (can't remember if that was before or after Gold and Sullivan pumped in £50m) they must still be haemorraging money surely?

Can only think that the olympic stadium already has a mortgage against it and the sale of Upton Park will pay that off.

Cor, the olympic stadium's gonna have some atmosphere, isn't it? With the stands miles away from the pitch. Unless they spend money altering it. But then again, can they? Or has it still got to be available for athletics, as per 'THE LEGACY'?

Personally (and I know I am often wrong) I never rated this guy. To few good games and overrated by the media. Wish him luck though.
