..... frankly worries me. He isn't the type of player I care much for. His often chronicled short fuse to me means that signing him may well be asking for trouble. Surely we can find a desirable degree of sturdiness without having to take risks with a player like Barton. Do members think reports about Barton are purely speculative and not worth the time of day or do you believe that we can harness the attributes of such a character and thrive?
Im with the op on this one, geuinely worried, i remember a similar thread a while back linking us with barton!, i think the only person who is gonna riegn in joey barton is joey barton. yes he has a chequered past some of which could be attributed to media hype but despite that he is not the sort of person i think would fit in at arsenal. Christ can you imagine if he started a fight with any one of our players theyll be out for a year!
Let's get Barton and Bellamy in - they can keep each other in check and scare the life out of other teams.
Absolutely no way we will sign him. You have to remember where these things come from, in this case from notorious Talksport Arsenal-hater Micky Quinn: http://www.thefirstpost.co.uk/80542...lk-arsenal-targeting-joey-barton-claims-quinn Therefore I'd take this with a Lot's wife-sized pinch of salt.
I thought the general opinion of Barton was changing a bit, perhaps not. Here's a question then, purely on ability, would you have him?
We wouldnt actually mind if Enrique went to a CL team, he's almost certain to leave, so... £10m? You'll have to wait a year for Joey though, he's leaving on a free to piss off Mr Ashley.
this should be our team --------almunia Sagna--Shawcross--Samba--richards ---Taylor--barton--that other bloke whose name i cant remember---Delap ----Davis---Heskey
A team including Bellamy, Davies, Bowyer, Barton, Shawcross and Huth should be enough to scare any team. We will win the league through intimidation.
Same. Clearly not! Joey isnt the same person he used to be, he's completely changed as you can see from the way he reacted last year to continous attempts by opposition to wind him up ('punched' Pederson in the chest, thats about it, and had a lot worse come his way than he gave out.) But I'm happy for you to all think he's the same person he was a few years back, if everyone thinks that then he will stay with us! He said he'd only leave for a CL club, and youre the only one linked. So, happy days.
You ought to offer him a loyalty bonus to stay since it seems pretty unanimous that we here don't want him!!
I hope Arsenal will never even consider having anything to do with any of these players. Sadly I guess there will always be characters as these in sport.
