I thought exactly the same. There ought to be some kind of ruling that if you pull out of the England squad, you miss the next league game. I know that sometimes it is genuine and things can be fixed in a week but more often than not there is something dodgy going on.
http://www.thefa.com/news/england/under-21/2015/mar/gareth-southgate-czech-preview-270315 Southgate believed to be giving debut to Targett tonight....also to Chambers (boo, hiss). Strange to have an U21 match on at same time as the senior team...means no coverage.
England team: Hart, Clyne, Cahill, Jones, Baines; Henderson, Carrick, Delph, Sterling, Rooney, Welbeck That is probably the most well balanced side we've played for a long time
Discussing taking some senior players to the U21 Championship. I have been advocating this for years...playing for the senior side should not preclude you from playing in the U21s if you are needed. No pussyfooting around the clubs, take them. And no nonsense from players either. Other countries do this. We're winning at lower age groups, now it's time to take the u21s seriously. Winning at a junior level would have a very positive effect on players going into the senior tournament. Winning is a habit.
