People point to Rafa's rant because we drew the next 3 games after it. But what they don't like to mention when creating the perfect delusory storm is that in the pre rant christmas period we actually drew 4 games out of 5. So, if we drew 4 games just before the rant and 3 games after the rant, the rant improved our form Ah stats, you can create any fiction you like with them
Which is exactly what I've been saying. Stoke actually only lost 4 home games that season so a draw there wasn't a bad result, and a very late penalty to Wigan was unfortunate to give them the draw but signs of a meltdown and again. The gullible will believe every rumour and jump on every bandwagon
True that. The bottom line is our November\Decenber results really put pressure on us. Of course the brainless folk of this world will try to say the pressure started Jan 9th.
Fergie was undisputed king of ranting in his day, not all of those rants brought a positive effect towards man utd yet non were blamed for his team losing games following him making them, its a mystical effect that apparently only happened only once, those theorist's that believe in it are funny as ****.
Lets not forget, Rafa's calmest rant ever contained nothing but truth about Ferguson. But it was not PC to come out and say it like Rafa did.
Of course it did, but utd fans and evertonians loved fergie and loathe LFC so there's no way they'd admit there was a lot of truth in Rafa's words.
The rant was a bad idea, there's no doubt about that. It showed the world, including the Liverpool players, that the manager was feeling the pressure. It's no coincidence that the team went on to draw the next three games.
You obviously didn't follow things, we drew 4 of 5 games end of Nov and Dec. So how did the Jan 9 "rant" cause those draws? Another idiot #anotherskyfan
The rant can't have cause those draws as he hadn't had his meltdown by then. I would have thought that was obvious to anyone. Do you struggle with the concepts of past, present and future?
Feeling the pressure is an everyday occurrence for any manager, any time, and with H&G to contend with it's safe to say Rafa was feeling pressure most of the time - why pick 3 games to point to it. Why not the 4 draws from 5 games a month previous? Was he not feeling pressure then but was after the so called rant?
Because those four games weren't preceded by one of the oddest manager press conferences in the history of the game. The meltdown was preceded by three good results. That form seemed to go out of the window for three games after the meltdown. Let's look at the fakhts by constructing a meltdown sandwich. Arsenal 1 - Liverpool 1 Liverpool 3 - Bolton 0 Newcastle 1 - Liverpool 5 MELTDOWN Stoke 0 - Liverpool 0 Liverpool 1 - Everton 1 Wigan 1 - Liverpool 1
Form had nothing to do with it after the rant. Were you at any of those games? Results don't always mirror form and they didn't here
One was a derby game in which form and league standings mean nothing and another was away to Stoke who won 10 and drew 5 of their 19 home games, Wigan only lost 6 home games, the theory is bollocks.
Here is a list of things Rafa caused by having his rant http://www.thepeoplehistory.com/january9th.html #timeisnotlinear
Rafa's rant led to the UN Security Council passing a resolution urging an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza? I know it didn't change much, but still, good going Rafa!
As you've just proved...............................as you won the 2 games directly prior to his rant and were top of the table.
Yes that was intentional in case you hadn't noticed.. but the form guide blows the rant argument out of water mate. If there was added pressure on the team it was because we blew 8 points out the window in over 5 games by end of december, grabbing 6 of those would have left us with the title. The rant and 3 draws.. merely circumstancial, our form, which is a much more reliable measure than a press conference says we were inconsistent all through that period 8 points prior to the "rant" and 6 thereafter, only a clown would put it down to the rant. Let alone the fact that we actually had more draws than I've listed, I really coud have gone to town on the stupidity of blaming Rafa's rant But let me boil it down for the simpletons. Liverpool in late Nov and Dec drop 8 points, Liverpool drop another 6 in Jan. Up till Jan 8th 09 it was "Rafa is to tactically rigid and drawing games because of it" and after Jan 8th 09 it was "Rafa's rant is causing the draws" Give me a break Tobes
