Supporters in the Dolman Stand are reminded that work to extend the roof has now begun and will affect the view of supporters attending this weekend’s game against Barnsley. As revealed last week, the extension of the roof is no longer going to take place in sections as this would require seven large four-metre-squared pillars being put in place to support the roof. That would heavily obscure the views of the whole pitch including the goalmouths. Instead, the roof will be built on the ground between the stand and the pitch in coming weeks and lifted into place in one go. This does, however, mean severely restricted views of the near side with the impact increasing the lower down the stand you go. Unless you have already contacted the club to relocate, the club will be automatically relocating seats for those supporters in the bottom six rows of Blocks E and F. Your season card will not be active for this Saturday’s game – instead you will need to collect a match ticket for the new seat either from the Bristol Sport Megastore (up until midday on the day of the game, or before where possible) and then from a special Collection Point adjacent to the Dolman Stand turnstiles after midday on the day of the game. For those supporters in the bottom six rows of Blocks E and F, you will receive a match ticket for the Barnsley, Swindon Town (April 7th) and Coventry City (April 18th) home fixtures. As the roof construction moves towards the Atyeo Stand in coming weeks more seats will be affected. Eventually all Dolman Stand seats and some in Block H of the Atyeo Stand will be affected to varying degrees. Supporters in the first six rows of Blocks A, B, C and D will not be fully affected this weekend, but will need to contact Supporter Services to relocate before the Swindon game. Although we fully understand that spectators wish to see as much of the action as possible, crowd safety is paramount and so we kindly ask that all supporters sit in their allocated seats and do not stand during the game. We’d like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience during this essential and complicated part of the development and thank you for your continued understanding. http://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/article/dolman-stand-important-information-2360627.aspx
sympathy for those affected, but I must comment on the new stand arriving to your left. Doesn't it look wonderful ! If the rest of the ground looks that good it will be a Premiership quality stadium
Unfortunately the Atyeo stand and the lack of parking will not make in a "quality" ground. They have made the best of a bad job but at half the price . You pays your money...........
It's the other end by the Swindon game, we've been asked to move. We can either do it this week for the next three home games or move after tomorrow's for the two home games after.
I went to the ground yesterday to swap some tickets for the Atyeo as D block became available online. (Barnsley only sold about 500 apparently) The shop were unable to let me have D Block tickets (even though I could buy them online! ) but gave me C block tickets. (I originally had restricted view Williams) The reason I tell you this is because it is my guess they are being saved for the Dolman punters in the first 6 or so rows! As an aside, does anyone get the feeling from certain staff in the club shop, that they are doing you a favour by you going there spending your money on match tickets?
