There are different levels of illness. Noises from the club seemed to imply he was a bit under the weather so combined it with giving him a few days off. it would appear their stance is "couldn't give a f*ck" which is much the same as mine. Were he performing abysmally it would be another matter but he's not.

Wouldn't be surprised if they had a word about being a bit more circumspect in the future though.

Im glad he went out.....26 years old, got a few days off and a friendly around the corner (and then a qualifier). Im sure there are more players sitting at home playing fifa till 4am and have a bigger effect than actually going out and socialising a bit.

Wow, a 26 year old "allegedly" goes out to socialise. I guess because he was ill, he should stay at home with his pipe and slippers.

Ozil may have been ill, but that doesn't mean he can't go out. There's a HUGE different between going out and socialising, and playing a bloody intense 90 minute football game in the EPL, up north, right after a mid-week UCL game where Ozil played 90 minutes. So don't really see what the problem was, what was he expected to do, stay home with a thermometer up his ass?

So, if you`re off work sick the company will think it`s fine if you go out clubbing?

Erm you do know for a football club it's different right? Work time is only when they're on the way to the ground, and the 90 minutes on the pitch. He did this at night, after the game, work time was over by then.

The club gave him the permission to go to Germany, so he was allowed to do what he wanted to, it was his time off, so he wasn't obliged to simply stay home.

You and the media can try to make an issue of this, but we as Arsenal fans aren't getting on his back for it, he did nothing wrong, and he is been on very good form since he's been back from injury.

Erm no, a player can actually not be feeling well, and isn't going to be that good for a 90 minute match. Are you really that ******ed to try and start questioning Ozil's commitment when he's played literally every single minute when he's been fit for us? And when he's TWICE played through an injury making the situation worse for himself? So you might wanna do some research before you want to start your stupidity.

At least Ozil doesn't hold us to ransom, announce that he's leaving, to get himself a bumper 250k a week....At United though, that's all good, do it, get the contract, and become captain, and have the dumb Mancs singing your name and being one of your most popular players.

I swear it's always ironical when you silly Mancs want to start opening your mouths trying to get at other clubs and players.

But no God forbid Ozil is not that well to play, and gets approval from the club, and decides to socialise at night during his free time, GOOD GOD NO, the man DESERVES TO BE CRUCIFICIED....But a dirty diving granny shagger who holds the club to ransom for a 250k contract, then no no no no we will suck his balls and chant Roooooney.

    Piss off.

So, once he played for 20 mins with a slight pull and another time he played a full game without knowing he was injured. What a soldier <ok>

Without knowing he was injured? He felt a crack in his knee and had pain, that's knowing your injured. These are professional footballers, they know when something isn't right.

Anyways your comment shows you are an idiot who doesn't have any actual point other than trying to **** stir with Ozil. You just wish you could have had him in your squad instead, enjoy Fellaini instead, lol, who you signed for only 10 million less than Ozil in the same summer, that is ****ing hilarious.

Read your own link, he felt a crack in his knee (as many people do when running) but no mention of pain, which is why both he and the manager thought he was ok to continue.
You are right about me wishing he would have signed for us though, bargain.

It's not like he was off shagging an old prostitute like Rooney, or doing drugs like Rio, or shagging his brothers wife like Giggs.

That's what he should have been doing, and then United fans wouldn't have minded.
