Punishment is retrospective, you can only punish the guilty once they've killed and that won't bring dead men back. Prevention means you won't have anymore guilty people to punish or dead people to find justice for.

My mate is a Geordie, his father was killed in the Enniskillen car bomb 1984. The over there comment was in relation to the contacts he has over there in Northern Ireland.

For the people who agree with letting killers walk free... If Islamic State agree to no more terrorist attacks in the UK, if we released Michael Adebalojo and Adebawle (lee rigby) killers, would you release them and let Anjem Choudreay become an MP?

As i stated many times on this thread, and I will state again..The fact remains that the Good Friday Agreement, regardless of all the scumbags it let off the hook, has proved to an agreement that has saved thousands of lives and brought some kind of normality back to the people of Northern Ireland. I honestly don't think you can compare IS, which is a global problem, with Northern Ireland which was/is a domestic problem. The truth is I would have loved to have saw all the perpetrators of terrorist action from Northern Ireland brought to justice, but with it being a choice of some of them walking free to save thousands of lives, then I'm willing to support that..
I also understand that people who have lost friends/family in the conflict will feel very differently, and I dare bet that I would feel different if I had..

It's a fact that the bombings have stopped RAW. But the killings go on. There's less of them, they're not referred to as political killings, and there's less of them, but the killings do continue.

But then, you'd expect them to, after any civil war, or any war come to think of it, there will always be old settles to score, and so the killings continue, just to a lesser and less publicised degree.

It's now referred to as being gang related, but from Billy's perspective, I'm guessing, nothings changed.

I totally get Billy's, Comm's and Amsterdam's view on NI though RAW. When you've lost mates and seen what they've seen, it must burn like **** to see the enemy in suits and in positions of authority.

But there is relative peace in the provinces now. Children are now walking to school everyday, safe from bombs and bullets, and we must never forget the sacrifices that so many young lads made to make that happen. Young lads RAW, that Billy, Comm and Amsterdam lived with, day in day out.

I was once at a caravan park in the west of Scotland.
They had a karaoke on on the night time.
They wouldn't let us sing this.
