Spot on mate...It is this utter negativity that seems to around at the moment that could actually drive us down...We are nowhere near the worst team in the league, and if our players perform to their ability we can pull away from the relegation zone without a problem..
Think that's spot on. Our team as a whole I wouldn't swap for the bottom three or villa or hull (as a whole - there's individuals I would have from all of those teams bar Hull and Leicester but wouldn't swap their entire teams for ours). I think ours are better but not showing it.
But that's the only reason we are where we are, MrRAW - our players haven't performed to their ability. I'm hoping Dick can change that. I agree, we'll be o.k. then.
7pts from those 9 we would be sitting pretty. We are one of the worst teams I have seen over there in all my years, don't even have a shot at goal. Dick will Cum thru tho !
Exactly...It is my view that Poyet was trying to adapt the players to a system that just did not suit them...I think that Advocatt is experienced enough to play them to their strengths.
Hope so RAW. I haven't seen the current form stats but Old Saggy Chops can't be far off the mark. I just hope he can make the most of the next 10 days with the lads. The last few wins against the mags were awesome but a win in 11 days time might well be the most important of all of them.
But Reg man, Jones and Van Arnholt are Cakka, we have no decent Premier centre backs, our best defender is a semi retired 36 year old Frenchman, we don't have Colback, Borini, Ki, Alonso this year and we struggled with them……how can anyone say we have a good team ??
Colback and particularly Ki were often berated by many of our fans as being ****e..I never actually said we are a particularly good team, but I don't think we are anywhere near the worst either..
Entirely agree, Mate. I'm currently involved in two threads, and in both we seem to be heading towards the same conclusion. Poyet had a vision of where he wanted his clubs to go. And in the Championship you might get two or three years to build that - as, indeed, he did at Brighton (and fair does to Gus - he did do that). But he didn't seem to understand that, in the EPL, you must achieve 17th or higher every season - to think otherwise is financial suicide and no Chairman will tolerate it. Gus insisted on his vision too early, and ruined careers in the process - including Altidore's. He was just so stubborn that he would think to hell with players' careers if that means I get my system. Now, how the hell do you get players to support that? - They won't, obviously. Would you if your career was on the line? As you say, I think Advocaat has too much experience at too high a level to swallow that sh*t - he'll play a system that suits the players he has. And Sunderland will be better off for it. I hope so anyway.
Saggy chops is just saying what I've heard coming from our fans most of the season. Turns out they were correct? Not looking forward to dropping a league thinking of taking up fishing where do I start any fishermen out there with any advice
You and Ultimate should start a club. Aussie Boy, Irish boy... Looking forward to see what comes next.
