The performances of Arsenal and Chelsea in Europe confirm that it's a poor league. Arsenal went out to Monaco FFS!

Ah but Arsenal beat us at Old Trafford so they can now do anything.

I am not saying it is not a poor league but not because of Arsenal and Chelsea ****ing it up in their matches. I still cannot work out how Arsenal got done by Monaco. Arsenal is better than Monaco and it was really self inflicted. The same with Chelsea. They are stronger than PSG. So if we went with the strength of teams in the CL then 9 of 10 it would have been 2 premiership teams in the quaterfinals.

Ahh. Arsenal beating us by an appaling error by Valencia. I wouldn't say they were stronger than us. We will have the chance to test it out soon .

But you beat Liverpool at Anfield so you can do anything now too!

Agreed. The PL is in poor form at the moment. The best of the other top leagues are a cut above the best of our league.

Agree with most of that but PSG are better than Chelsea. The quality of their football was sublime at times. They fully deserved to go through as the better team.

They shoudnt be. They play in a mickey mouse league and only face challenging fixtures when they play in Europe.

The lead the french league by a point. We have as many points and sit 4th. Theres very little impressive about them imo.

Except actually when they're on the football pitch? Isnt that what defines whether one team is better than another. They both go on to a big grassy place along with a round thing. Then you watch them kick it around and the one that does it the best between their players - and scores, has usually played better. I could be mistaken though.

Better team on the night won. Its has been known to happen, yes.

The better team on the night isnt always the better team though. See Swansea 2-1 Man Utd. <ok>

That's completely different though. A poor team getting the better of a better team through sheer will and determination is one thing, but a team that clearly didnt just turn up on the night, but played a style of passing football - carving up Chelsea time and time and time again, showed they play better football. Chelsea could have played them 10 times and still wouldnt have been the better team. They were outclassed.

Apparently Sturridge is injured and is going to be out for a month. The Dippers are certainly suffering from a few injuries at the minute but as we were told earlier in the season, injuries are no excuse. Hopefully Arsenal thrash them and kill off their top four aspirations.

We will struggle without him, even when he's not scoring defences play deeper when he's on the pitch and allow us more freedom in midfield. I'd go as far as to say we wont get 4th without him but I hope I'm wrong.

I'd have had you to beat the Arse as I genuinely don't think they are all that at all but with injuries and self inflicted suspensions you might not.

Having kicked your arses good and proper I'm now very interested in the response, good chance to see if Rodgers is as great as he clearly thinks he is himself.

Brenda will be outwitted by Wenger. Having said that the Arsenal record against the RS is not that brillant. They wont have a better opportunity to get one over them. Stevie, Skrtel and possibly Sturridge out.

A draw would be best as Arsenal have won 5 in a row. Dropping points will derail them and allow us to move above them.

I suspect an easy 3-0 win for them now though. Liverpool will tumble away from the top 4.

If we win 3-0 (or if we win full stop) is that essentially the league done for this year do you think? Champions will be Chelsea. Champions league spaces all but tied up for United, City and Arsenal. Only thing of interest left will be who goes down out of Burnley and Sunderland.

United still need to win their matches. So it is not a foregone conclusion. A Villa win and a LFC win brings everything back into play, with us in the driving seat.
