    Had to go past Staplewood this afternoon as I had a job in Hythe & Dibden, so I made a point of going down Tavells Lane and turning right into Long Lane, which took me past the main entrances. I now count 4 of them with large double gates to the place and the building work continues unabated,. In all I think there were 6 [had to keep one eye on avoiding an accident] such was the extent of the place. The new covered pitch arena is enormous. Much bigger than the old one, I think, and the little grandstands for the practice pitches wouldn't embarrass a non-league side's ground.
    Sadly, I finished my work slightly after dark, but I still came back the same way to confirm my impression of the place. Otherwise I would be adding some photos. Perhaps next time. It'll be a couple of months until I go back that way for work, so maybe I'll do a quick blat out there on the Viffer in a week or two.
