Nope, as the other two will undoubtedly go with Clarkson to pastures new. Leaving the BBC with a format and nothing else. They'll no doubt have a bash at it, but I reckon it'll die on it's arse without those 3.

No mate. Doesn't work like that.

The show may well return but its audience will be gone. Fifth gear is the alternative car show and if you are really, really dull and only interested im a car getting you from A to B then its great.

What will happen is Clarkson will double his salary, create the Clarkson, Hammond and May show on Sky. It will air alongside bbc top gear and blow it out of the water.

And I hope to god you are American Bod.

Surely they still own the old episodes? I'd imagine it'll still be bringing them in a fair wad.

It was their most lucrative show, the lack of new material could cost them up to £50m p.a. <yikes>

Oh, I'm not doubting that the loss of revenues from new episodes will be substantial (unless the people buying the shows have already purchased the rights in advance and can't get out the contract), but I imagine that there will still besignificant money coming in from merchandising, DVDs, sales to foreign counties etc.

    Can't argue with that mate.
Family is from Battersea, but I was raised in Milton Keynes, now live in Leighton Buzzard.

Clarkson is top gear. There is np top gear without him. Theres a misconeption that top gear existed before Clarksons versiom and to a point it did. Quentin Wilson? And Tiff Niddel? Alongside Clarkson and others were involved.

About 8 people watched it at its people.

Clarkson turned it from an awful show about vauxhall novas to the bbc's biggest show.

International broadcasters are set to sue the BBC for losses. They already have to pay out millions for cancelled live shows.

Its going to cost the bbc 100s of millions.

Yes. Years ago. It was very good. The lead character makes the show. Its a bit like top gear. Lose the lead and theres no going back.

Dr House regularly lamped his employees too.

Dont know and dont care what he did. Many people have done worse and kept jobs.

He apparently hit him. Now it wasn't deemed enough of a hit by the victim because he did nothing about it.

The bbc are trying to lool good. They will come out of this far worse than anyone.

"It found that Mr Tymon took himself to hospital after he was subject to an "unprovoked physical and verbal attack".

"During the physical attack Oisin Tymon was struck, resulting in swelling and bleeding to his lip."

It lasted "around 30 seconds and was halted by the intervention of a witness," Mr MacQuarrie noted in his report.

"The verbal abuse was sustained over a longer period" and "contained the strongest expletives and threats to sack" Mr Tymon, who believed he had lost his job. "

Sounds a bit nastier than I thought it was. To be honest, they had no choice.

"May gave no comment, but updated his Twitter profile to say: "Former TV presenter"."

    There's the first to follow...
