What would we do without you mate, place would be dead.

I put this up on the Budgie board with a mention to Monsieur Plum, don't know what he thought? Made me chuckle!

So then, weighty likes a bit of ****ry, stands to reason!!<cheers>
You lot are far to out there for me, was really into the Jam but the 2Tone scene was my passion and i loved The Beat (now the English Beat) They are still going after all these years, although they are no longer fronted by Dave Wakeling, Ranking Roger is now the front man.
Nowadays i just love Train, they are bloody great and their music is so varied, from Rock to country to main stream!
You guys should try out some of their albums, am sure you would like them.

I didn't even realise how appropriate the title was until later on.

I was seriously considering jacking in, good to have some breathing space and gather my thoughts and why should I let some bitter old fool beat me down anyway!

cheers mate, Im banned still same as you. let them have their celebration threads of a minor trophy win 30 years ago! It was the breaking of one of the fundamental rules of being a mod that got my goat.

anyway, better not side track a thread or SD and KOPR will start banning me from here.

    here you go.

    bugger done it again!

Wow - i've only just cottoned onto this thread, and like a number of others, is something i can also talk about all day.
Similar to JWM, i'm also predominantly a soul, funk and rare groove man (but none of the commercial sh!t like Luther, etc) and also been a big Northern soul fan since my school days. In saying that, i appreciate most types of music, from the jazz vocals of Ella, Nat and Sarah Vaughn, to the 70's prog rock of Caravan, Love, Fairprt convention to Iron Maiden and Motorhead, the deep dark roots of reggae and then onto the orchestration of Ennio Morricone - but deep down i'm a soul, funk, rare grooveand reggae man....
    One of fave reggae tunes...

You do have a point I think the "Any Love" Album and then all the compilations thereafter were a step too far but by God could that man sing! I first saw him in concert back in the mid 80s and I have been hooked ever since the man was a genius vocally!
