I work on the theory that (although not 100% perfect) any player selected by Saints must have something going for them and it might be best to wait until you see them play. In some cases, Saints are a search and rescue team for lost footballers.

 

Just read a few pages of that Bertrand thread...didn't remember it as that bad Poor Ryan....perhaps it toughened him up for rejection by Hodgson.

 

But Ryan wasn't on £60k- 70k a week basic.

 

I'm pretty sure he has got rid of it now, The change coincided with his improved performance

Doesn't fit for me

All our loan deals have been with options to buy and at his age no matter how talented he may be, he won't be able to cope as a first team player in the premier league and if he isn't going to be first team, then whats the point in us helping to develop a player ahead of our own youngsters?

 

I agree...the only point would be if he was a great player who could do us a turn in the PL...and I can't see that. It would be like puppy walking, where someone else benefits.

I had a look too and noticed that I, sensibly, stayed out of the debate. Had I participated I would have said that he is a great signing, will become the best left back in England and will be called up by Hodgson

This is the Spurs supporting media blowing up a comment Toby made about linking up with his Belgian team mate, he didn't say that he wanted to join Spurs, they are grasping at straws.

That's why I jokingly said we should sign Vertonghen....the article writer assumed he wanted to go to Spurs, so I pointed out the alternative thinking behind his comments.

 

I don't mind actual info being posted. But some of these sites make up so much rubbish. Hereisthecity being one of the worse.
