It's the NIMBYS. I live in a lovely picturesque Suffolk village. There is little under £250k. Building land needs to be compulsory purchased at market values and housing built for those who need it. Planners jealousy guard consent and this forces prices upwards. The weekend bankers come here and pay half a million plus for house they use maybe thirty days a year. I wonder who they vote for....
Yep and its wrong. I'm going to vote for the party that has allowed me to employ 3 more permanent members of staff since they have been in power, gave me more cash so I can help them get on the property ladder and has turned the economy around.
I'd happily vote for anyone who: 1. Promotes a secular society 2. Puts small business over medium business and medium over large 3. Provides comprehensive financial aid to the disabled 4. Gives orphaned kids exceptional care and education 5. Puts education over defence, health and police 6. Bans common Northerners and Londoners from travelling abroad or entering Norfolk
Or a guy who benefitted from 2 property booms and tries to preach to the rest that owning their own home requires no effort and is happy with his LOT. I make no excuses. I like the finer things in life, I work bloody hard for it.
For the record I did want to change my avatar but I don't really post that often and then the site changed and I don't really know how to do it!
I think that if you re-read my posts you might find that the opposite is true. I think owning your own home, something that should be a right,is far too hard. The reason for this is the unavailability and therefore the high price of land, something we have virtually unlimited amounts of. Building a house costs no more than seventy or eighty grand, a price most could afford. Any sort of building plot now sells for more than the price of building the house on it. The Tories and their Daily Mail reading supporters want prices to stay high out of pure self interest. The trouble with the finer things in life is that so many of them are ****e. A man can wear a designer suit and a Rolex but underneath it he is just someone nursing an inferiority complex that drives him to try to demonstrate his worth. Sadly ,he demonstrates only the brittle nature of his own ego.
Yes, I don't want it to get nasty. After all it's not JWM. Part of me actually wants to see Dave get a wafer thin majority and then see Salmond's battleaxe wielding hordes descend on him. Now that would be fun.
SN23 wants a job at my place CT. I don't take it personally. He is on a "like" campaign. And I am quite a grounded person really. Coach an under 7's team in my spare time. I'm from a council estate background in Essex, born in Colchester like SN23. Not born into money just made my own and helped plenty others along the way. I only left school with 2 GCSE's. Just made it work and had the drive to succeed. It could of course all go wrong.
Same story really, grew up in a house with an outside lavatory. Conned my bank manager into lending me the dosh to buy a redundant filling station and started a garage /car sales. Grandpa was a Commie though so that's most likely where I get it from. Although the old bastard pegged the week I was born.
Why would I want to work for you Kemp? I wasn't born on a council estate I was born in Mile End Road in a 4 bedroom house , you are proud of yourself for running your own business we can all see that and very happy for you. Usually Tory voters only think about themselves and screw everyone else, you may be slightly better off but the poorest of society will be hit harder and the richest will get richer quicker. Not sure why you had a pop at me over the amusing Harry Enfield picture of Tory boy when you are happy to sing their praises on here? I was on £30k in London and still couldn't afford to buy my own house, I doubt you could afford me mate.
We just have different points of view and that's fine. There's nothing wrong with that. In fact it's healthy it's just really hard for the normal working man these days to buy their own place. We do give interest free loans to employees to help them but there is a limit to what is possible sometimes.
Caught a whopper there didn't I! Fish lip! £30k? Not surprised. I pay my guys more than that in Thetford. I am not a usual Tory voter.
This is what I mean though. The more spare cash the company has and the faster we grow the more people I can employ? Surely this is a good situation for everyone?
