He wasnt bought to be a goalscorer so why would we consider them? I wouldnt take goals into account when comparing defenders. Creative attackimg midfielders/wingers are judged on assists. And yes Girouds numbers are good. Hes still mothing special and wouldn't be the first striker to go through a good goal scoring run. It will take a little more than that to be considered a top striker.
A player who plays in attacking position should be adding goals. You can't get by with an assist every couple of games. Defenders are a completely different debate, playing at the complete opposite end of the pitch with a completely different job to do. As for Giroud i think he's **** mate but his stats this season are outstanding.
